we stayed here for 2 nights to be close to go snorkelling at Mnemba island. you can just walk out on thr Beach here and book with a "beach boy" to take you. we paid $25 usd each. - air conditioning - coffee machine in the room - buckets of water by the stairs to wash sand off feet - staff was very helpful and attentitive. Veronica ( I think that was her name) was always making sure we were looked after. we had a problem with our air conditioner and she sent maintenance to fix it right away - breakfast was really good and varied - resteraunt was nice with good selection of food

The staff at Hebe Bungalows Lodge were excellent, I would like to mention in particular Sajada, Veronica, Ester, Swaumu, chef Anthony and last but not least the owner, Nathalie, who 'fixed' any problems with no fuss at all!! Not just those mentioned but the cleaners, gardeners, restaurant staff and even the Maasai guards were all very helpful, great staff all round!!

Overall, there were both positive and negative aspects to our stay. The staff was very friendly and polite throughout, and we truly appreciated their helpful attitude. The dinner was good and we enjoyed the food. The room itself was generally fine in terms of size and basic facilities.

“Amazing stay with friends, family and children.”

Absolutely amazing place for group of friends, family with children or just traveling alone. The room was clean, bathroom was clean and shower got good water pressure and was properly hot, staff was more than helpful and food in the hotel restaurant - delicious. The bungalows was a show stopper, especially with safeguard next to them, so no street sellers won’t come to bother you while chilling. Overall amazing experience and definitely recommend!

Really nice place to rest relax enjoy the sea and not be crowded.... the food is delicious..you can find good wine..I really like the vibes of this place ...the owner is friendly and the staff also and help me with a matter that I had..

“The absolute perfection for a relaxing holiday and some great food.”

I am totally gutted to have left this little corner of heaven!! If you are looking for a boutique small lodge to rest and breathe and take your time at your own pace you just found a precious gem in a very local spot along the huge pristine beaches of Zanzibar!! I arrived for my week at Hebe nearly at the same time with the new Owner, Nathalie a fantastic woman full of ideas and energy to improve even further this lovely secret spot in Zanzibar. We immediately connected and it was already for me the perfect beginning. I had time to fall in love with the great chef's Anthony delicious food and his wonderful Swahili fish soup and big and rich fish plates. I could have gone on forever. Special mention to all the staff that was always ready to help with a big bright smile Esta Veronica Sedjica and Samuel at the cocktails. A super A team of young and very professional guys and girls willing to make your stay simple genuine and unforgettable. I am now very curious to see how Nathalie will improve even more the place and might return again soon!! Rooms are few, cosy simple and yet with a character. Loved everything of it especially the sleepy cow that everyday came to sleep on the beach by our lodge!

“Disappointing stay at Hebe Bungalows”

Tasty breakfast. Some friendly staff. Sajada, the receptionist, organised free bikes for us the 2nd day so we could visit neighbouring beaches. We greatly appreciated this kind gesture. The sunbeds in front of accommodation also offer some welcome shade.  We were also not disturbed by the plentiful vendors due to the presence of respectful Askari security staff.

The resort has a real island feel. Lovely setting and has a lot of potential. Staff were amazing. Food was good. We wish the new management lots of luck with the plans they have.

Great location and breakfast. We had a nice time

Location, cleanless, staff friendliness, food - everything was just perfect. We were supposed to stay 2 nights, stayed a week. Location is absolutely amazing. Right on the beach, the sounds of the waves when you fall asleep and wake up.. The most comfortable sunbeds I have ever seen. We felt like home since we entered. Staff speaks very good english, food is delicious and they are very attentive to all the needs you may have. For pets lovers - dog and cat who perhaps own the property 😉 But if you are not a fan, they don't approach you at all.

Friendly and accommodating staff, kind and went above and beyond to look after guests! Nice breakfast options. Helpful booking for boat tours out to Mnemba island. Beautiful and well maintained garden area, meticulously swept and warm lighting. Authentic atmosphere. Conk the dog :)

Very clean rooms. The service was top-notch, and the staff were fantastic. Sajada was particularly outstanding. The food was delicious and also reasonably priced.

Very nice bungalows with lovely sea view in an authentic fisherman village. The staff was super welcoming and helpful to each of our needs. We had the best breakfast during our entire vacation in Tanzania here prepared deliciously by chef Anthony. Also we appreciated that breakfast was served until 12 and that we could do an early check-in. The food at the restaurant is very good. There is daily room service and everything is kept clean. .

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hebe Hotel and wanted to share my thoughts on the experience. The hotel is conveniently situated in village close to the beach and making it easy to explore the local sights and enjoy nearby places. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. From check-in to check-out, everyone I interacted with was friendly and eager to assist, making my stay even more enjoyable.

The staff were cheerful, extremely helpful, always available. The rooms were clean and had air-conditioning and fans. The food was good, freshly prepared and well cooked.

“Amazing stay in Matemwe”

Amazing location next to te beach, very calm. A lot of trees and consequently shadow places, which is truely needed in that hot sunny days. Rooms are clean. Staff was helpful and they were always ready to animate people in the restaurant. A lot of amneties like pool table, reading corner with sofa. Every second day they had live music in the restaraunt. Food is also very delicious. Strongly recommend if you want to rest your body, mind and enjoy delicious food

“Okay but would not return”

The nice thing about this hotel is that it’s right on the beach with a direct access. It’s also quite close to a popular snorkelling location which was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful (organized a currency exchange and a taxi for us). There was a group of Maasai guys hanging out in front of the hotel which were nice to meet and talk to. Also, at midday the fishermen would come to the beach with octopi and fish and the locals came to buy it, which was very interesting to see.
