So happy we found this little sanctuary — it was definitely my favourite stop on our road trip through Zanzibar. The staff are sincere and friendly. From the moment you arrive, you immediately feel: this is a place where I can truly relax. But wait, there’s more — the FOOD. They really know how to serve wholesome local dishes with a creative twist. Every meal was fresh, thoughtful, and full of flavour.

Excellent place, very calm, and pretending to be like a nested in a huge garden. I found my stay very relaxing and I was pleased by staff with their attitude and proactivity to help and assist with all matters.

All the staff and owners were friendly and lovely, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The room was spotless and great facilities. Food was delicious and pool area was spacious and clean. Would recommend for anyone for a relaxing and tranquil break. We would also recommend getting a massage and yoga if you have time!

“A quiet place to relax!”

The villa is in a very quiet surroundings. The pool is excellent with cosy beds. You can easily walk to the beach and walk to a beach bar Marafiki and Sunrise Hotel where is live music sometimes. You can also go to nearby restaurants (Marlin restaurant was very nice and half the price of a meal in Ville Unaweza) You can also walk to Matewme and there are several mini markets and also a Liqour store Mjambo (they sell beer for 20% of the price in the Villa) They fixed the things that didn't work in our room quickly.

Beautifully designed little complex made for an extremely relaxing two night stay. The team were very welcoming and helpful, and facilitated a late check out so we could fully enjoy our last day. The pool was fantastic. Breakfast was exceptional, and we enjoyed the other meals and drinks we had there. All very close to the beach, its bars and restaurants, and village.

Our honeymoon stay at the hotel was truly unforgettable, thanks especially to the wonderful staff (whom we liked so much that we even went to a party together, creating memories we will always treasure)! The highlight of our experience was meeting the lovely owner Aga and the manager Sylwia, both of whom went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect and assisted us with everything we needed. We cherished our daily conversations with Aga and enjoyed the peaceful yoga sessions with Sylwia on the beautiful terrace. We never expected to meet such amazing, kind-hearted people during our trip, which made the entire experience even more special. The hotel itself is a mindblowing masterpiece, clearly created with heartfelt vision and attention to detail in every corner. The pool, framed by lush banana plants and towering palm trees in the garden, made us feel as if we had stepped onto a secluded private island. Our room was spacious and elegantly decorated, providing the perfect retreat. The à la carte breakfast was not only delicious but thoughtfully prepared, featuring fresh fruits and baked goods, and every meal and drink we tried from the restaurant menu was amazing. The hotel’s location, just one minute from the beach, allowed us effortless access to the stunning coastline whenever we wished. Overall, the combination of incredible hospitality, breathtaking surroundings, and heartfelt care from the owners and staff made our honeymoon a truly magical and deeply memorable experience.

“Perfect stay in Zanzibar!”

We arrived at 4:30 am and the hotel admin arranged the pick up in the airport as well as the early check in, which was highly appreciated! We spend fantastic relaxing 7 nights and we enjoyed the tranquility, beautiful garden and terrace, swimming pool as well as the breakfast and dinners. Everybody was really warm and supportive, taking care of the cleanness of the room and common areas as well as making sure you feel comfortable the days you decide to spend it in the hotel. The beach (long and beautiful) is only one minute away but consider that it has tides times when you cannot swim (like in almost all the island), there are some restaurants from another hotels along the beach, which may be an option for dinner. In the village there is only very basic possibilities to do shopping and no ATM (ATMs provide only chillings and limited to an specific quantity). It is very important to bring enough cash with you (dollars) as everything in the island is practically paid by cash, in the hotel you have the possibility to pay by card (with a 5% charge) or with revolut, I also recommend to change some money in chillings (for tips or souvenirs). I celebrated my birthday with my family there and it was really worth of it! We went to snorkel and to Stone Town organized by the hotel, everything top and reliable. You have 6 different options to choose for breakfast. Food is very tasty and with enough options to vary during one week, price average is 15$ per main course, everybody from the reception, room service and specially in the restaurant make you feel home! thanks to all of you!

“A very relaxing and calm stay in Matemwe!”

I had an amazing 3 day stay at Villa Unaweza! I was travelling alone following a hectic work trip, Sylvia helped me book my shuttle from the airport and that was the beginning of a very smooth stay. The room and facilities were gorgeous and the staff was very kind and friendly. The yoga classes were a wonderful addition. The complementary breakfast was great - I was never able to finish everything! Looking forward to be back. Highly recommend the reef walk (but wear lots of sunscreen!)
