“Beautiful Guest House & Wonderful Host ✨”

Absolutely loved my stay here — I only wish I could have stayed longer. 🤍 I booked very last minute and the owner kindly got the room ready for me so quickly. She was incredibly warm, accommodating, and thoughtful from the moment I arrived. She brought me tea, fresh fruit from the neighbour’s garden, and made me feel genuinely cared for. The guest house itself is absolutely beautiful — peaceful, cosy, spotless, and filled with such a lovely feminine touch. You can really feel the care that’s been poured into the space. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, and the location couldn’t have been better — just moments from the beach. A truly gorgeous place with a beautiful owner. Thank you so much for having me. ✨

It is so well thought out with everything you need. Super clean. Saroja is an amazing host. From the pre arrival to organise time and pick up until the moment I left. The breakfast was delicious and in the garden watching the chipmunks and birds followed by some chilled time in the hammock! I had a cooking class with her which is one of my highlights. I highly recommend The Window. I felt so safe. Perfect for a couple or solo travelers. Highly recommend and I would stay here again. Thanks Saroja

Soraja is truly an exceptional host — one of the kindest and most attentive people we’ve met while traveling. She lives in the house with her son, but the guest room is completely separate, so you have full privacy while still feeling genuinely cared for. The accommodation is beautifully maintained, very clean, calm, and thoughtfully arranged. There’s a lovely garden area with chairs and a hammock where I loved relaxing after surfing. It feels peaceful and safe. Breakfast is included and prepared fresh every morning. She even cut fresh mango, papaya, and watermelon for me because I like to eat fruit before going surfing. For my partner, she filled a thermos with hot water every morning at 6 am so he could have his coffee exactly the way he prefers. These small details made a big difference. The value for money is incredible. You have reliable Wi-Fi, hot water, AC — everything works perfectly. The location is ideal: walking distance to restaurants and cafés, and very close to the beach and the best surf spots in Madiha. If I were to stay long-term in Madiha, this would absolutely be my choice again. We are already looking forward to coming back.

The home was very cosy, with a nice garden. Room was good and homely, I slept very well. Saroja was so nice and welcoming, she made me a delicious and varied breakfast every day. She is one of the kindest people I met on my trip! She helped me with my laundry and was ready to help with anything I might need. I highly recommend this homestay, especially if you are a female solo traveller.

I was made to feel very welcome. Area was very quiet. No barking dogs!

“A great place to stay!”

It's very clean (I saw it get cleaned and the sheats changed because I arrived early), the owner is super friendly, breakfast is delicious (possibility to choose between Sri Lankan or western breakfast), there is air-condition and a warm shower. Beach, surf spot, board rental, restaurants and stores are in walking distance but it's a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood.

The room was exactly as seen in the photos. Saroja is such a lovely person, very friendly & helpful. Her son was very nice too! The location was good, it’s not that far out of town, only a 5-10min walk to the beach etc. We hired bikes from a local guy which was great. Saroja’s breakfasts were delicious, they were different every day. Huge effort, especially for the price we paid! :)

We had an amazing stay at The Window. Saroya Was the loveliest host and such a welcoming person. When we arrived she offered us a coconut from her garden and every morning she come up with a different delicous breakfast for us. The room was extremely clean and very cozy. We truly had the best time there. It's also in walking distance to many restaurants. When we come back we will stay here again!
