Overview
Pension Romantika offers rooms with a furnished balcony and free Wi-Fi, 500 metres away from the sandy beach of Matala. Within 300 metres, you can reach the town’s centre, where you will find many bars and restaurants. The air-conditioned rooms at Romantica are bright and simply furnished offering mountain views. They all come with a mini fridge, seating area and an en-suite bathroom with shower. The ancient palace of Phaistos is 10 km away. Within 30 km, you can also visit the seaside village of Agia Galini. The city of Heraklion with its port is at 70 km. Free private on-site parking is provided.

“Fantastic stay”
The host is very nice and considerate. Provided interesting information and introduced us to the cats and dogs around. The room was clean and cozy, you can reach the beach, shops and bars by foot in a couple of minutes. You can hear if people are chatting outside, but happened during reasonable times only. No complaints here! :)

We had a wonderful stay at Stavros' place. He was incredibly welcoming and offered great recommendations for things to see and do in the area. Stavros went above and beyond to accommodate our special requests, which we truly appreciated. The breakfast was a highlight—beautifully presented and full of delicious local specialties. It is a lovely, quiet place with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The rooms are clean and well-kept, and the atmosphere is peaceful. The hosts are kind and helpful. We really enjoyed our time here and would gladly return!

The room was beautiful and very clean – we honestly didn’t expect it to be this nice when we arrived, and we were pleasantly shocked by how well-kept and tidy everything was. The host, Stavros, even prepared breakfast with delicious local products, the best coffee, and fresh orange juice – all for just €8! The location is great, close to both the city and the beach. We truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it!

Room was modern and comfortable, bathroom fabulous, everything was very clean, Maria and her daughter were super friendly and helpful. The location was ideal and there was ample parking... far enough from the busy noisy centre and close enough to walk to it.
