“Great spot but Needs some TLC”

The rear/lower ground floor apartment garden patio and private swimming pool was the golden ticket (see picture). A great outdoor space with tables & chairs, sun beds and natural shade. However on Booking.com it was only the top floor and upper ground floor apartment that was described with pictures shown. I was not fully aware of this at the time of booking. The location was as described, approx 10-12 min walk to the centre of Matala and beach or short drive where we could park in the Matala Bay Hotel; which is also where we had breakfast included and picked up our keys. Initial impressions of the apartment were good, clear and helpful instructions. The surrounding area of the apartment was quiet and provided total relaxation. Throughout the apartment efforts were made for high standard finishes, but attention to detail was lacking.

“Lovely relaxing stay”

Clean, well stocked apartment. Plenty of room for another couch in the living room though. We liked the quieter location and the pool area was fab. Great breakfast at the main hotel.

Spacious, modern and clean with good air conditioning. Good breakfast at the hotel a drive down the road. Staff very accommodating and friendly.

I can’t rate Matala Bay Aparts (the one we booked), because they asked us to stay in the hotel for one night. And than they gave us double room for 4 PAX. Our stay was okay, it was with breakfast and outdoor pool in the garden.

Nice breakfast, no problems with getting and returning keys, problem with broken chair has been fixed the same day. Good contact with the staff.

Really great apartment, clean and lots of space. Quiet area, nice to sit outside on the terrace in the evening and listen to the crickets. Very good breakfast included at the nearby hotel. Is 10-15 minutes walk from the beach, but on the other hand, you live in a very quiet neighbourhood and has lots of space. The beach is nice with ok snorkelling along the cliffs to the right. Sitting at the beach at sunset is a must. A rental car is highly recommended if you live here, as Matala is a bit remote. You should also make nice short roadtrips to nearby villages in the beautiful mountains, and enjoy some local food there!

Everything was perfect! Amazing place and stuff! We will be back.

The keys need to be retrieved at the Hotel hundred of meters away but one of the employees kindly brought them to us. Simple, spacious and comfortable : We had 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms. You can park your car in front of the apartments.
