The location is very close to the beach area where you'll also find good restaurants and souvenir stores. There is a private parking area.

Everything- the location. Near the beach but close to major sites such as knossos, rethymnon and phaestos. Staff are fo lovely and friendly. We planned for 4 nights and stayed for 8

The family who runs the place is the sweetest family I’ve ever encountered! The place is nice and clean and quiet. Very nice to have parking right there and it’s a quick walk to the beach. Wish we could have stayed longer!

“Wrong room, incredibly kind staff”

The staff were very kind, friendly, and welcoming. The location is perfect, right in the center of Matala, which makes everything easily accessible.

Lovely family run place, very friendly and helpful, and nice dogs! On the road behind the main town so quiet, but was also end of season so may have been even quieter as a result. We only stayed one night, using it as a place to stop over before driving back to airport the next morning. Beach was lovely (again quiet because end of season).

The hosts were fabulously welcoming and friendly and gave us really god information about a nearby beach that is so much nicer than Matala itself. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept amazingly well as it was very peaceful (beginning of November). Thank you to our hosts for being so warm and welcoming and caring about our stay.

Great location, very clean and owners stayed up late to welcome us. Could park car on the driveway.

“Decent accommodation in Matala”

The room was clean but very small, bathroom was nice, very friendly host family lives downstairs (the house is under permanent control same as the guests), parking nearby - but you need always ask the host for the key when you leave or arrive.

A gorgeous guest house run by a lovely Greek family with all generations present. We felt very looked after by Doria and her family - they really were such friendly people…thank you for the cake and coffee. Room had everything we needed and lovely balcony facing the cliffs.

Amazing location, 2-3 min walking distance to the beach. Owners are really kind and attentive. Great service, room have been cleaned every morning. A must to stay if you come to Matala
