Located 12 km from the ancient city of Phaestos, family-run Dimitris Villa Hotel is on the coast of Messara bay, surrounded by trees, just 8 minutes from Matala beach. Dimitris Villa rooms are bright and air-conditioned. They are equipped with a TV, fridge and safe. In-room breakfast is available upon request. Free internet access is offered in eating and pool area as well as in rooms. In the hotel tavern, near the shady pool and surrounded by flowers, guests can enjoy breakfast or a traditional Cretan lunch. “No hot water, no heating, no apologies”
The hotel has entirely been renovated but lacks the basics: hot water (we were unable to take a shower), and heating ( the remote control lacked a working battery and we literally froze in the morning). We did not see anyone whether at night or in the morning. This is fine as long as there are no serious problems.

“Lovely time, again”
In a quiet spot within a 10 minute walk to centre of Matala. Lovely pool and surroundings. Good breakfast. We have returned here over many years & lovely to see upgraded bathrooms. Daily cleaning is very efficient, plentiful parking.

The host was very welcoming and helpful. The room was lovely and clean and it is in a very central location. Matala is a lively town with lots of restaurants and bars.

“Beautiful!”
We loved it here! Friendly staff, great location and clean comfortable room. Really nice bathroom and the view from our balcony was lovely. We also loved the pool, it was so beautiful!

We had a great stay at this lovely small hotel. It is only a three-minute walk from the center of Matala, yet very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was simple but good. Our room was quiet, and the bathroom was completely new, very beautiful, and modern. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, always responding to any request.

Excellent for the price. The pool area was lovely and the room had air con, a new bathroom, a safe, fridge free parking and good WiFi BUT the room was tiny. 10 minute walk to the centre and beach. Dimitri himself was very pleasant.
