The host, Jeyantha, is so friendly, caring and helpful. He was attentive and always looked to provide the best service. The setting of this hotel is wonderful, close to town but set back below the road so very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious, so tasty and good portions. And the view is just incredible, the perfect place to enjoy breakfast, dinner or a cup of tea.

Honestly I never felt so welcome and so taken care of. This is exceptional place in many ways. The location itself is mesmerizing. The look of the lake, sunsets are very relaxing and soothing. Just what I needed. Calm and refreshing. The house is a well built solid home. People live there and you feel like part of their family. Very comfortable beds. All clean and there is a lot of air and space. Food is marvelous. You can’t have it any better seriously. They even grow organic vegetables right there and serve them to people. But the people there is what matters most. They go way beyond their normal tasks. Way beyond in their hospitality. The manager Jayantha made all my wishes come true. Ordered a tea factory tour for me even on Sunday. Booked a very comfortable car with driver. He was very polite and a took care of each detail. I will miss our evening talks.

Jayantha, the cook, waiter (he’s actually doing everything what you need to feel comfortable on your stay) was really heartwarming. He speaks really well english and could tell you everything about the organic garden they have to cook your meals. Food was really delicious and always as healthy as possible. He organized us a tuktuk for the adams peak at 2am which picked us up again after the hike. Additionally, he was really familiar with ayuverdic treatments because he worked in an ayuverdic hospital and he gave us recommendations and an ayuverdic natural tea to try to cool the body. Thanks for everything and all the tips you gave us with. 🙏🏽 Generally, any staff were really nice and heartwarming although they couldn’t speak english. The place was a very clean and nice place. Food was very good and the staff was very friendly. It had a lovely view.

“A quiet place with a great view”

We stayed at Butterfly Mountain for two nights. The hosts were four ladies who were lovely and helpful, and they gave us some great advice. The rooms were pretty basic, but they had everything we needed. The only problems were that they were a bit damp (but that's a general problem due to the climate), and the view of the lake and Adams Peak from the split terrace was amazing. We ate dinner there as well, as there aren't really any other restaurants in the area. The food was delicious and plentiful, but a little more expensive than we were used to in Sri Lanka (but maybe that's the price you pay for the location).

What a beautiful little hotel located in such a special place in Sri Lanka.. this hotel is located down a road with the most spectacular outlook to Adams Peak. My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights as halfway stop between Adams peak and Hatton. The manager and beautiful women who run this hotel are just wonderful. The friendliest, down to earth people who made out stay even better. Outstanding hospitality. Helping out with transport, cooking the most amazing breakfast and dinners- eat here if you stay, the food is authentic and mostly from their organic garden. Accommodation is simple and clean- bed and netting, shower/ bathroom. Lovely verandah to sit and chill on. No need for mod cons to distract you. The perfect escape. Recommend here if you are wanting to get off the tourist trail and see something different in Sri Lanka, you won't be disappointed

Beautiful lake in front. Just terrable experience. Save the money and find another place. This is the most dirty accommodation that I’ve had in my life.

“Marvellous Maskeliya”

The location with views over the reservoir is absolutely stunning. The rooms are spacious, clean, simple and comfortable with hot water. The family and staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. The surrounding waterfalls, tea plantations, villages, mountains and of course Adam's Peak, make Maskeliya a perfect place to visit. I loved it here and I'm sure you will too.

“Our stay at at this place was disappointing due to cleanliness and miscommunication regarding BF”

Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. Despite initially being assured that the breakfast served was Halal, we were dismayed to find out upon arrival that the sausages were not Halal. This was deeply disappointing and caused inconvenience for us as we were unable to consume the food provided. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the rooms left much to be desired. It was evident that the housekeeping staff had not properly cleaned the rooms before our arrival. The reused bed sheets were visibly unwashed, and the room had a stale smell, indicating inadequate cleaning practices. It was disheartening to see that the hotel staff seemed to prioritize efficiency over cleanliness, leading to an uncomfortable stay for us and our children. Overall, our experience at this place was marred by these issues, and it greatly affected our enjoyment of our vacation. We hope that the hotel management takes our feedback seriously and implements necessary improvements to ensure a more pleasant stay for future guests.
