We had a super pleasant stay in Balda, it has a special place in our hearts now! The host is so kind and her food is just amazing! The bathroom was shared, but always clean and the shower worked perfectly well. The location is quiet and peaceful. The hike to the waterfalls is easy and beautiful, you can start directly from the guest house. Lovely dogs and cats (we miss Loma so much!) Highly recommend!

I really loved the host, she was very sweet and cooked a lot of traditional dishes per request. It was great that there was a small cafe right in the place, with food and beverage. The guesthouse is very calm and with a big nice territory

Guest House Balda is wonderful and one of the reasons I come to Georgia. It is about genuine hospitality and a sense of family. The restaurant is superb and the bedroom was super comfortable. You can go horse riding and get advice about hiking. Just go there and enjoy being in Georgia!

“Best place to stay in Georgia for an authentic experience!”

We loved staying in this Guest House! The rooms are cozy, the veranda has stunning views and the food is absolutely delicious. They could even serve us vegan food which tasted just otherworldly! The homemade wine was awesome and we were able to take some home, too. It really gave us the perfect authentic experience with wholesome interactions with the family. We can recommend the horse tour as well, as beginners we were a little frightened in the beginning, but the horses were very friendly and Georgi as instructor really made it perfect! Thank you very much for the warm atmosphere you gave us!

Initial Description on Booking.com: The listing mentioned public road access, nearby sightseeing spots (including waterfalls), and horse rentals — which sounded appealing, but not met. Scenic Location: The surrounding area could have been beautiful under different circumstances, especially in better weather. Polite Attempt at Conversation (by one host): The host made a minimal effort to engage in small talk and showed us videos of past guests enjoying their stay.

“Amazing Georgian food and hospitality”

This is a very nice guest house! Great Georgian homemade food fresh from farm, cool activities and beautiful surroundings. A great place to go and relax!

They changed the booking all by themselves from two rooms to one and updated in booking.com to reflect one room for only two of our family members. Rest of two family members were supposed to find another hotel room somewhere. Insane people at far end of the village with no mobile service.. Going up that unpaved road had vibes of the song hotel California. We wanted to check out and leave ! beware !

“A cozy, welcoming stay with delicious food, close to Martvili Canyon.”

My partner and I chose 'Guest House Balda' for our stay while visiting Martvili Canyon, and it was a perfect choice. The canyon was just a quick 15-minute drive away, making it very convenient. The guest house itself was incredibly comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The serene atmosphere, combined with the warmth and hospitality of the host family, made us feel right at home. Their house is truly beautiful, and the on-site restaurant was a highlight of our trip. The food was exceptional—I've tasted many Khachapuri throughout Georgia, but theirs was by far the best. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

We really liked our stay in Guest House Balda! We especially liked the warm welcome by Giorgi and his family. They are very attentive hosts, we talked a lot and learned about Georgia and its culture. They are extremely flexible and cooked us a lovely dinner. Breakfast gave us energy for a long day of hiking. Giorgi and his parents know the region very well and can give great advice! Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains.we also appreciated the quiet of this small village...we slept really well there. Last but not least: Farm pup Charlie is super cute and took care of entertaining everybody ;)

The whole place was just perfect, the hosts, the food, the location. We really felt like family and were lucky to be invited for dinner the first evening with the family and some friends from the neighborhood. The food was awesome and freshly made. Asa and her son Giorgi made us feel at home and were the best hosts you could ask for. What's very nice is the veranda in front of the rooms where you can sit and enjoy the view over the mountains. You can also have very nice hikes in the area.

Very beautiful place with lovely family. Weve got to try traditional georgian food and weve spent great time with them. They also invited us to try swing above the canion. It was an amazing experience and people were lovely. There are also many animals like pigs, chickens, cows, cats, dogs and horses. Highly recommend
