The WiFi didn’t work, the hot water lasted less than 10 minutes, and the bathroom light wouldn’t work. Even though you have a private room, you can’t even lock it.

We booked this place for a one-night stop on our way to Siwa. Clean sheets were a plus, but no towels were provided. The furniture is dated and the kitchen is basic, but it suited our needs as we only needed a place to sleep. The central location and good WiFi were also appreciated, as was the view from the 11th floor. However, you'll need a taxi to/from the bus station. Good value for a short stay.

Al-Manara Hotel is an excellent choice of a hotel in Mersa Matruh. For the usual price of a hostel you get to share a super clean, spacious and comfortable apartment with all its facilities in perfect order and right in the centre of the city. Plus, you get this amazing city view from your balcony. However, what made my stay truly exceptional was the super kind and friendly stuff that was always there to assist with any issue, but also more than willing to engage in conversation and help me practice my Arabic. A special thanks to Ashraf, Mahmood, Heba, Hisham and Faraj- the amazing owner of the hostel- whose hospitality made it feel like home. Note: Mersa Matruh has a very warm climate so you can enjoy summer vacation and idyllic beaches even in October, while at the same time avoiding the crowds.

Everything is perfect, location, convenience, staffs and reasonable price. As the hotel is located at the middle of Matrouh, I can get to El Hana beach, markets and cafeteria by less than 5 mins walk. Also, it’s easy to travel other cities by public transportation as the railway and bus stations are not far from the hotel; taxi fare is less than 1 USD. I strongly recommend Al Manara to all travelers.

The stuff were nice and friendly, specially Ahmed El Mahalawy he was cooperative when it came to cancel our booking for the last 2 nights, also the apartment have all the amenities like kitchen with all equipment also a washing machine for clothes.

To be honest, I loved this place, for just small money I got a luxurious flat for me alone on the top of the highest building of the city, I loved the lights inside the home, you have a living room, tv, kitchen, washing machine, a bathroom and hot water as well as confortable beds! You have everything near the house, for eat, markets, the beach is only 10 minutes by walking. People are nice and quiet and respect you so much. I will come again

Huge shared apartment, which I could have for myself alone because there were no other guests, as I went in low season. Very comfortable bed with clean sheets. All other facilities were clean and good. Helpful staff, helped me with my late arrival. Convenient location, nearby the main beach of the city

Place is absolutely amazing. Very clean beautiful rooms.well equipped kitchen,washing machine to wash clothes, right in the center. Basically big rooftop apartment with 2 rooms converted into female dorm you can see sunrise and sunset. Very big living room terrace amazing people who work super nice.this is the best female dorm I have ever been in.

I like everything here, the facilities inside and outside the hostel. 10 mins walk to the beach and everything is around which is convenient, staffs are very friendly and helpful.

The upstairs apartment was very spacious, clean, and well kept up. The kitchen was well equipped with everything I needed to cook a meal including a microwave, hot water kettle, and a working gas stove and oven. It had a large comfortable queen size bed and plenty of space in the closet to put all personal items. There are two beds in each room so you can either have a private room or one roommate at the most. There is a large balcony to go out on and catch some sun and a clothesline to hang up washed laundry. At night the view of the city and ocean is spectacular. The owner, Farrag, is always very kind, accommodating, and quick to take care of whatever needs you may have. .
