“Wonderful and peaceful desert camp with a fantastic team”

Wonderful and peaceful desert camp with a fantastic team Camp Caméléon is beautifully secluded and consists of only four tents, creating a very personal and peaceful atmosphere. We had a wonderful stay and felt completely at home throughout our visit. The food was outstanding: a generous and freshly prepared lunch with many starters and grilled skewers, a delicious tagine for dinner, and an extensive and excellent breakfast. Better than anything we had in Marrakech. The tents were very comfortable, with private bathrooms and cozy beds. The views are stunning as well. A special highlight for us was the unusual sight of a green desert, as it had rained the week before – something truly unique and beautiful to experience. If you do not need a pool and instead enjoy sitting by the campfire in the evening, looking at the stars without loud entertainment or crowds, this is the perfect place. The entire team was attentive, warm, and welcoming and also organised for us transport to and from the camp as well as a dromedary ride We would happily come back anytime.

“Great camp in the desert experience.”

I guess this was one of the base level camp options outside in the Agafey Desert. We didn’t organise this as a full package, but booked the camp, and then liaised with them for transport out to the camp and back. None of that was an issue. The activities (we did quad bikes, but you could also do buggy’s and camels), are not at the camp, but a top before. This wasn’t an issued and was planned into our trip out to the camp - although it would have been good to know this, as we may have adjusted timing a bit. The camp is basic, but probably pleasantly surprised with the room - double bed and two singles - all comfy. Bathroom attached - shower had hot water heated directly by gas. We had a great sunset and moonrise! Food was very nice - again though it would have been good to know how it worked, we had mostly filled up on what was first brought out - a lot of vegetable dishes - and then chicken tajine came out. Staff were super friendly, although didn’t speak English. (Or our French was very poor!). They lit a fire pit for us in the evening, and then delighted my daughter with bringing out marshmallows to toast!

The tent and position.

Beautiful location, very nice staff. Great food and amazing views of the desert. Dromedary ride was amazing too. Please do not be like us though and follow Google maps, it is a longer route and quite challenging :) follow the camp's guidance here and you'll arrive quicker.

Amazing place! We were lucky enough to be the only ones staying in camp chameleon that night and it was amazing to be all alone in the desert! The dinner was great, we loved to be by the fire after dinner and have a nice mint tea. We also rented a quad which was very fun.

Loved being in the middle of nowhere. Such a special experience. The staff were kind and friendly. The breakfast and evening dinner were amazing. The best we had in Morocco. The views were out of this world and the tents were spotless and comfortable. I would urge anyone to go. Can’t convey enough how lovely it was.

An unexpected charming, restful and delightful place run by a wonderful team. We ate the best food in Morocco here. Sublime views and peaceful place.

This is an amazing place, created with great attention to details. Tents (each with private bathroom) are located quite far away from each other, which really enhances the desert experience. The beds are comfortable, and the common area has many extras like boules, archery, and vintage decor. The views are breathtaking. We were very pleased with our stay! Definitely recommended!

Camp Cameleon offers an authentic experience in the desert of Agafay. Alain, Youssef and the rest of the team are there to make sure the experience lives up to the expectations. The location is perfect, remote enough, but still accessible. The view and the scenary are outstanding. And to top it of, the food was just amazing!

The views and location from the camp are stunning. It’s very isolated. The food very absolutely delicious. Some of the best we had in Marrakesh and we ate at some very expensive restaurants. It’s not a luxurious camp but is comfortable

Youssef was very nice and made everything possible that we wanted. The Food was amazing, it was a lot so we couldn't finish it but It was very tasty.

“Authentic experience!”

Good communication before our stay. They arranged a transfer from our hotel on request. Half board option a must - excellent Moroccan food. Tent spacious and adequate for one night. Would have liked a fire in the communal fire pit. The two hour quad bike excursion was excellent - a fantastic way to see life in the desert.

Comfortable camp set away from the others in a quiet area where you really get a true camping experience. Tents are set up with comfortable beds, clean sheets and blankets, gas heaters and working bathrooms that make it comfortable camping. The food is amazing and plentiful and very fresh and healthy. Games available to entertain the kids (archery), while also not having too much which makes it very peaceful. We were also the only ones there when we stayed which made it extra special and even more peaceful. Very easy to organize activities (quad, camel etc). Highly recommend for those who want a relaxing and authentic camping experience away from a lot of people but with all the comforts that you need.

Great location in a quiet corner of the Agafay desert. The camp is small which makes it feel more authentic, no pool or wi-fi here! The dinner and breakfast food was fresh and very good.

“A dream”

It was really wonderful. The staff informal attentive and friendly. The food was amongst the best we had in Morocco. The extra fluffy blanket (in addition to the two duvets) made it a pleasant night, even though it was very cold. The camp is very much at the high end of what we are able to pay for accommodation, but at no point did it feel expensive for what we got. Even the taxi transfer, though expensive, was absolutely worth it. You will understand if you take it. Thanks to Alain's dream, we made memories for a lifetime.
