Isabel is very friendly and welcoming. She was flexible when I needed to change to a different apartment and generously cooked me some food on Christmas eve as I was there by myself. The apartment was very comfortable and peaceful. Maro is a lovely little village, with easy access to Nerja being only 5-10 minutes away. The beach in Maro is a bit of a steep walk, taking around 25 minutes each way but it's a great spot.

The village of Maro is lovely, smaller and cozier than Nerja. The owners are the sweetest older Spanish couple. They were super helpful and just really nice, although they don't speak English. The furniture is older but very practical, we had a huge terrace just for ourselves with a wonderful seaview. The apartment was absolutely clean and the beds were comfortable.

A spacious self-contained apartment, bigger than I expected and with balcony to sit out on, in the heart of the village of Maro. Isabel and José were friendly and attentive hosts.

We absolutely loved our stay and were so sad to leave! Isabel and José were the perfect hosts - they couldn't do enough for us. We enjoyed chatting with them (and practising our Spanish), and they let us store the bikes we had hired even though they were quite big and awkwardly sized mountain bikes! The penthouse apartment was authentically Spanish and exceptionally clean. We had access to two terraces which was a joy to wake up to and sit on every day. There was everything you needed for self catering including kitchen facilities such as a toaster, kettle, washing up liquid, cutlery, fridge and freezer. Maro itself is tiny but incredibly tranquil. With the incredible caves (cuevas) on your doorstep and Nerja a short cab drive away (under 10 mins), you get to enjoy the best of both worlds on your holiday here. We would love to come back and would like to thank Isabel and José for being such wonderful hosts.
