“Peace for the soul”

We had a wonderful stay in Woodland cottage for my dad’s 60th, the owners are so welcoming. The cottage itself has everything one might need, beautifully designed and the wood burning stove is a pleasant feature for evenings. Grounds are vast and we enjoyed having meals on the terrace. There’s plenty of wildlife to watch from the doorstep as well as on walks. Birds sing beautifully and waling up to their song is just a joy. Short walk from the river and fisherman’s cabin where we enjoyed playing jenga and dominoes while watching young bulls in the field across the river. Grounds are well looked after with paths clearly cut all over the estate. Thank you to the owners for protecting this piece of land and keeping all this beauty so pristine and unchanged, it was a real rest for the soul.

“Family weekend at deveron Lodge”

It was cosy, clean, great location next to the river. It had everything and more that you could need or want for a relaxing break away. There were things to do in the area that were a short drive but also some lovely walks along the river. Benches are place along random spots in the wooded area at the back of the lodge which allowed for us to just sit and take in nature or simply just listen to the river

Absolutely fantastic stay at the Woodland Retreat - so much so that we're looking to book again already! The soace was large, clean and had everything we needed. The fenced off garden was perfect as well as access to large walks where the dog could burn off even more energy. It's close proximity to attractions meant it was a perfect base for our holiday. The beds were amazingly comfy too. Perfect place.

We spent Christmas 2025 here & could not have asked for a more picturesque location. The chalet itself is lovely & cosy.

The cottage was beautiful, so well suited in the woods, and kitted out with everything you could ever need. Beds were so comfy and cosy too.

Exceptionally pleasant and helpful couple running the place. Cottage was cosy and had everything you could wish for. Bothy by the river was very tranquil. A real highlight.

Absolutely gorgeous place ...from the lovely warm welcome from the owners Ally and Jason to the very end..this place is a dream come true. Peaceful. Relaxing, lodge was clean and had all amenities available...add in the beautiful view and walks, it was complete bliss 😊

We loved our family stay at the Deveron Lodge, we've been to a few places this year but this was our favourite. It is such a lovely lodge, very cosy, everything we needed was there and the little details made it even more special. The place was spotless, comfortable and we felt at home. The owners were very helpful and the communication was great. The location is beautiful, lovely walks and views, and it is so peaceful. Portsoy and Sandend beach were our favourites. We wish we stayed longer and we can't wait to coming back.

“Amazing relaxing family time”

Everything, every last detail Jason and Ally were amazing, cottage was amazing. Scenery, dog just roamed not on lead when going for walks. Amazingly peaceful place to relax.

Pulling into Deveron Valley, we were greeted by a huge hare, a pheasant with a penchant for cars, the absolute beauty of the space, and a smiling, welcoming Ally. We stayed in the lodge down by the river, and as our car pulled around the corner, we all immediately felt so excited and delighted with our accommodation. Its beautiful, well maintained, clean, peaceful, and Ally and Jason have thought of everything to stock the lodge to make our stay comfortable. We got so lucky with beautiful night skies, a heron on the river, amazingly beautiful, naturally growing herbs and flowers, some funny, inquisitive sheep and absolute heaven on earth. Its safe for children and dogs alike, our 6 year old son and 1 year old lab had the best time playing, and it being a wee bit back from the river and no where near any traffic at all, we could let them run free. At night, we lit the wood burner and slipped into a cosy world of just us and a bottle of wine... was so great for our family to reconnect and rest. Check out the cosy bothy by the river, the replica Easter Aquhorthies Stone Circle, the amazing riverbanks, and just enjoy being in the quiet. Nearby, huntly was a great wee town (10 mins drive away) we also went to Inverurie and Cullen. There is so much to see and do, no matter what your preference. Ally and Jason were amazing hosts, on hand with information and support (and great chat!), but also gave us the space to enjoy being in their beautiful space. I can not thank them both enough for having us. We will be back.

“A hidden gem with the perfect hosts !”

We stayed in the Bonnie view lodge. It was in the most beautiful setting and so peaceful. A well equipped and wonderful layout, the lodge did not disappoint. Beds comfy, kitchen well equipped. The added bonus of the river and farmland, with paths created to allow for riverside and woodland walks. Ally and Jason have thought of everything. They were the perfect hosts, available if needed but not pushy or a constant presence. We loved our chats with Jason! I would highly recommend these lodges and cottages, we’ll definitely be back.
