“Spacious, comfortable & well equipped studio with fabulous views of the plateau & mountains!”
Our stay was 10 out of 10! Don’t just go to Lasithi for the day, please stay overnight with Vasilis & Christine. Their property at Marmaketo is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in a wonderful self-contained studio with a terrace with superb views across the plateau to the mountains. It’s a great hiking base & Vasilis provided a walkers’ map & advice on routes. The studio itself was very spacious, clean, comfortable & well equipped. The kitchen was great for preparing meals. The shower had good water pressure. The fridge was generously stocked with local produce for breakfast - sheep’s cheese & yogurt, homemade preserves & honey.. Vasilis brought fresh warm bread from the village each morning. I was the first visitor of the season to try the pool - it was gorgeous! This accommodation was perfect - peaceful, beautiful & great value for money. The hosts were very kind & attentive. Highly recommended!

“Fantastic Location”
A very spacious, clean and modern apartment with lovely views of the mountains and plateau. The hosts were extremely accommodating and allowed us to stay as long as we wanted in the afternoon, due to our late evening flight. The breakfast items provided were very good, plus plenty of fruit and complementary Raki also.

Very nice place in a quite village in the mountains. Amazing views from the mountains and very good location to unwind. The host, Vassilis provided us with fresh watermelons and melons from the garden every day. Very nice host, so welcoming and it feels you are visiting family not a business.

The place was great, clean, great bed, close to food and the owner Vassilis is super helpful and welcoming. The units are very modern as well and well maintained, plus the ingredients supplied for breakfast were fresh.

Really nice place, friendly owner. In the room you can find fruits, rakija and local food for breakfast. I the morning owner bring you the bread. Quiet neighbourhood, but close to the shop and restaurant. Outside is the pool, but the weather was not best for swimming when we visited this place ;) Spacious and full equipped apartment, nice furnitures and a lot of place to relax.

“a wonderful stay at a great base for exploring the plateau & mountains.”
We booked a studio but were given a one bedroom apartment at no extra cost. Beds were extremely comfortable, & kitchen was well equipped. When we mentioned that the shower was running cool, the owner immediately turned extra water heating on. Breakfast included was a full fridge on arrival with everything one might want, plus the owner called every evening to check what extras might be needed & to take a bread request for the following morning. (stale bread could be fed to the sheep, which was great fun!) Nothing was too much trouble & the owner was very happy to offer us vegetables & fruit from his own allotment patch. A fabulous location with a village in either direction for tavernas, & fantastic mountain scenery ( maps of the locale were available in the apartment). Sadly, the swimming pool was too cold for us at 5 degrees, but one or two hardier guests did take the plunge!

“We really loved our stay!”
We absolutely loved this accommodation and would highly recommend it to others. First of all – the hosts! Staying here felt almost like visiting friends. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. They treated us with fruits and vegetables from their own garden, gifted us honey, and surprised us every morning with fresh warm bread. There was breakfast food waiting for us in the fridge and fresh fruit in the rooms… just fantastic. Our apartment was spacious, clean, and full of light – perfect for our large family. The children were thrilled with the pool, and the adults truly appreciated the stunning mountain views. This place is ideal for a peaceful holiday (the other guests were quiet and respectful too) and for exploring the most beautiful spots around the Lassithi Plateau. We stayed for three nights before continuing our journey, but nowhere else did we feel as good as we did here. We wholeheartedly recommend this place to others.

“Great authentic Cretan experience”
If looking for a true Cretan experience this is the place to go. The hosts were super friendly and hospitable. I’ve been to Crete many times and this is by far the most authentic experience I’ve had. Would highly recommend a couple of days if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful away from the pressures of everyday life in big cities.

The host gave us a warm welcome and we could ask anything to them. The location was great, the plateau is a unique natural location and the hikes in the mountains around it were beautiful.
