“Exceptional”

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at South Safari Lodge! The staff were exceptional and made our experience truly special. Ivana did an outstanding job looking after us—nothing was ever too much trouble, and her warmth and attention to detail really stood out. The wildlife sightings were unforgettable. We saw wildebeest coming right up near the fire, as well as bush pigs, monkeys, impala, guinea fowl, and even giraffes—an incredible experience! We would also highly recommend the spa package, where they come to your lodge to give you a relaxing destress massage, and the safari at Kruger National Park with Reinhart was amazing. The team went above and beyond by decorating the dining area for my brother’s birthday and completely spoiling us. It was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. Linda’s cooking was amazing—every meal was delicious—and Sibu did a fantastic job maintaining the property, keeping everything in perfect condition. Overall, an unforgettable stay. We would highly recommend South Safari Lodge to anyone looking for a truly special safari experience!

Great location in the middle of Marloth Park and close to Crocodile Gate Bridge (entry to Kruger Park). Very spacious lodge, comfortable bed and nice pool area. Good communication with the hosts who were always helpful and supportive. They helped me book two safaris into the Kruger Park which were amazing.

I had a mixed experience during my stay. The bungalow and the lodge itself are very beautiful, well maintained, and set in a lovely environment. A special thank you goes to the kitchen staff, especially Linda, who was always warm, professional, and attentive. The housekeeping team also did a great job – everything was clean and well organized, and their friendliness really stood out. Unfortunately, the overall experience was noticeably affected by the difficult and at times unfriendly communication with the host. In addition, the billing was not transparent, which caused unnecessary confusion and discomfort. I was also disappointed by the very high surcharge (around 70%) on tours booked through the lodge. This felt excessive and significantly reduced the value for money. In this context, I would not recommend the Panorama Tour – the distance is too far for a day trip, and the tour guide was unpleasant, which made the experience uncomfortable rather than enjoyable. Overall, I would also advise against using the cooperating transport company, as I experienced delays and very high prices. My recommendation would be to rent a car and organize tours independently, which seems more flexible and cost-effective. In summary, while the staff, accommodation, and setting were wonderful, the issues with management, pricing, and tour organization unfortunately tarnished what could have been a great stay.

Such a lovely stay! The staff were super nice and helpful, from our arrival we were greeted with ice tea and received clean towels everyday. The room was exceptional just as the pictures. They even accommodated us with snack packs for when we left super early for the Kruger and would’ve missed breakfast. EXCELLENT!!

This lodge is a hidden gem. We spent here only one night on our way from Kruger park, however, next time i would definitely spend here much more time. Starting with warm welcome upon our arrival, very friendly people running the lodge gives the atmosphere for you to feel like at home, well equipped lodge, great pool area and amazing food - we had here the best steak (and we tried A LOT of steaks during our trip in ZA), that was really outstanding one! And all the antelopes and Pumbaas walking around lodge make it even more special place :) thank you for that!

We had the most lovely stay at South Safari Lodge. The units are beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We really appreciated all the additional services provided - small gestures that made such a difference to us! We will definitely be back!

“Highly recommended”

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent—only about 20 minutes from the Kruger National Park’s Crocodile Bridge Gate. You can see plenty of wildlife in and around the property. The food was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Lovely accomodation set in Marloth Park with close access to Kruger National Park. The staff are exceptional and make the stay feel even more special. Lots of animals roaming around and coming into the accomodation. We would definitely recommend the half board options the food cooked by the chef is excellent.

“Wildebeest and kudu sharing our meal time!”

Marloth Park is very special with wildlife at your doorstep. South Safari Lodge makes good use of that as the manager brings in lusern for the antelope that have been finding the current drought conditions difficult. There was even a resident genet. The chalet accommodation was very comfortable with a large bed, small kitchenette, dining area and good air conditioning. The pool area was very attractive with poolside drinks. The evening meal and breakfast were both good and the manager was interesting and helpful.

“Nice stay close to Kruger”

The manager was so friendly. One of us didn't feel good during the stay and she went out of her way taking care of him. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The pool and fire area were a nice touch.

“Lovely bush experience”

- perfect location with wildlife roaming around the entire park. Being able to see giraffe, wildebeest, kudu, warthogs, right out your doorstep is truly wonderful. - the pictures don't do it justice. What a beautiful place and so much attention to detail, especially the decor in the chalets - a walking distance to the crocodile river where you get breathtaking views. Went on a fence drive and it was spectacular - received a very warm welcome from Mama Lin and she makes you feel right at home. Chef Carol kept us fed with exceptionally cooked food. The entire staff was truly amazing. - checked in on 03 Oct (my birthday) and met 2 lovely couples. Young couple from Belgium and Elderly couple from Balitto...we had such great conversations - definitely worth visiting multiple times. Value for money indeed!

“A true gem”

Lindi and her team provided a wonderful experience, so friendly yet professional, that made our 8 day stay a fabulous one. Great facilities, clean with very comfy beds and hot showers, peaceful, all things needed after a hot day animal spotting! We selected to have breakfast and evening meals included, and they were delicious, every evening a different menu. Only a 20 min drive to Crocdile Bridge Gate, if doing a self drive or game drives collect from the Lodge when booked effortlessly through Lindi. Emails answered very quickly, with questions I had in the months preceding our stay. Highly recommend anyone to stay at South Safari Lodge. You won't be disappointed, I'm just so pleased I found it. Thank you and the team again for my impromptu birthday celebrations, very thoughtful, kind and a memorable evening.

“A fantastic and romantic gateway”

A hidden gem in Marloth. Everything was just perfect: the food (book diner, it is delicious and the setting is so romantic! ), the cottage :beautifully decorated and so comfortable, Linday who manages the lodge is the sweetest person I have ever met. She puts her heart and soul in what she does. I felt really special. A bonus is the animals you see roaming in the garden. During the evening we saw busbabbies (a very special sighting). Marloth itself is also much more than expected. You can walk or drive along the river and you see all the animals along the riverside (Kruger np is just next to Marloth)
