Perfect location on the central square but taxi needed for uphill journey to hotel if arriving by train. Good breakfast with excellent service, Quirky but charming atmosphere in old building, Cheerful staff and very good restaurant. Room was very spacious with comfortable bed and tea/coffee making facilities, Painted furniture added to charm of room.

Location and simple facilities

The location was great.

The hotel enjoys an excellent location in the central square of historic Marburg and has its own bar (serving Italian but not German wine) and restaurant as well as having easy access to many others. The bedroom was cheerfully decorated but very small with an equally small - indeed rather cramped - bathroom. Facilities within the bedroom were limited with no desk and no room for chairs whilst the grey and smelly towels supplied need urgent replacement. With an absence of reception staff, the room key was delivered in a box at the entrance of the hotel after typing in a code and, though this worked well enough, it does not equal a personal reception. A very good breakfast was served in an attractive basement breakfast room where the service was highly efficient.

I love my stay, the location is amazing as well as room itself, very clean, comfy and stylish. Staff is very friendly and I enjoyed breakfast as well.
