This is Paradise in Kilimanjaro. This is not my first stay and each time is exceptional. Amadeus is a great host! And he organised a safari trip for me which is was marvellous! Saw the Big Five!!! And the tours around the Home Stay and Mt Kilimanjaro were great. Locally grown Food was delicious! Fresh coffee also from the Home Stay . Highly recommend !

Peaceful setting! Host is wonderful!

Nicely situated at the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, quiet neighborhood and beautiful views. You will stay very local, kind and service minded team; cook, guide and host. Good bed and bathroom (warm water). From the main road you need to hike 20-25 minutes to the accommodation, but host can sent a teammember to help with the luggage. Good value for money, would go there again!

“Remote and beautiful accomodation right next to Kili national park”

Fine accomodation on mount Kili, off the beaten path yet right on the border of Kili national park. There is a waterfall where you can swim very close to the property. The place is more a guesthouse / cabins than a homestay, though when we were there the owner Amadeus was renovating a house for himself on the site. There are great views from the breakfast / lunch / dinner veranda, you can even see into Kenya on a clear day. There is a hike you can do to see the peak of Kili (on a clear day), but you will probably need the guide as the village is very spread out and there are many small paths. We got there by dala dala from Moshi and then took a shared car to the Kili gate, and were then shown the way to the place by someone in a shop close to the gate. This hike (about 30 minutes) was one of the most beautiful hikes we did in all of Tanzania, the forests and streams and plains on this part of mount Kili are stunning, the smells of nature will stay with you! The owner is friendly and will try his best to give you a good time.

I was told that there was no accommodation as there was a family living there after my arrival in Tanzania. I was not afforded the chance to stay at the said property. I was told to look for alternative accommodation. I did like wise

The homestay from Amadeus is a magical place. You feel very welcome and it is the perfect place to arrive or unwind. We loved it here. The Cook Ignaz deserves another 5 stars. His cuisine is fantastic, authentic and fresh. If you want to take a very special piece of Africa with you, you should definitely book here. We will come back!

Beautiful place to stay on Kilimanjaro! Amadeus' place has an incredible athmosphere. We enjoyed some great walking tours, joined a coffee production, had many delicious meals and great chats with everyone around the bonfire. Would always stay again!

Amadeous, Igantious and their friends are fantastic, welcoming hosts - with a passion for their homestay, Mt killimanjaro and local chaga culture. A great homestay to experience the village - with its beutiful surroundings, daily walks or hikes to the summit. Ignatious is an amazing cook and provided us with some of the best food I have had in Tanzania - fresh from their garden. Amadeous is very knowlegeable about Tanzania and can provide useful information on treks, tours and other countries in East Africa - where he has lived. The family has decades of experience summiting Killimanjaro and organise summit expeditions, as well as other treks in the area and safari tours around the northern circuit. Highly recommended homestay.

“Best place to stay in Tanzania”

I have just had the most wonderful holiday at Amadeus’s homestay. It’s a magic wonderland!! The hospitality is amazing. The whole team are wonderful. I was fortunate enough to return here after one year, to go on a 5 day safari which Amadeus organised. Saw the Big Five. Couldn’t ask for anything better. Came back to the Homestay, before setting off on a trek up Kilimanjaro!! Amadeus is also a professional mountain guide and he put together a great 3 day trek up the mountain , which is walking distance from the Homestay!! It was an amazing trek and I highly recommend it. You don’t have to go to the summit to enjoy the beauty of Kilimanjaro National Park!! The Homestay itself was amazing. Delicious 3 course home cooked meals! Home grown honey and coffee! Best coffee ever!! Such a peaceful relaxing atmosphere !! My friend and I were made to feel like family! By staying here with Amadeus, who is so generous and kind, I felt that it was also a chance to support the local community.

“Best chef of Tanzania!”

The homestay is difficult to reach but once you get there it is soooooo beautiful. A waterfall next to the house and everything is incredibly green. Amadeus and his brothers welcome you with open arms and help you with discovering the mountain they live on. Especially we want to give credits to the best chef of Tanzania: Iggy. he makes you 3 meals a day for 7 dollars/meal and it is fantastic! everything freshly harvested from there garden. This was the best stay we had in Tanzania!

The location of the homestay is magical, really off the beaten track in the heart of the nature. The team are just great, always so friendly, it was a pleasure to sit around the campfire with them after a day of exploring. Big shout out to Ignas also, for some of the best food we've eaten, all cooked with fresh homegrown produce, 5 stars!

I liked the location . quiet out of town.

This place is a jewel. Far from everything, no car, no noise. The only thing one can hear ...is the waterfall. The room is basic but comfortable and clean. The staff is great and does everything to make you feel home. Last but not least, Amadeus is such an amazing person, generous and kind. His village is very lucky to have him. Thanks for this wonderful stay. P.S: This place is a coffee plantation....I can say it's the best coffee I ever had! My friends in France who got it as a gift share the same point of view. Make sure you get some!
