The swimming pool area is simply fantastic — spotless, relaxing, and perfect for unwinding after a day in the city. The breakfast deserves special mention: carefully prepared, fresh, and thoughtfully presented every morning. You can truly feel the attention to detail and care in every aspect of the experience. What made the stay exceptional, however, was the human touch. The person managing the property offers outstanding, warm, and genuinely attentive service. Their kindness, professionalism, and dedication create a welcoming environment that is hard to find. On top of everything, the location is ideal — right in the city center, yet calm and secure, making it a perfect base to explore Maputo with complete peace of mind. I would highly recommend Casa Quimera to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and heartfelt hospitality. I can’t wait to return!

“Great guesthouse with a lovely host”

We just spent one night at Casa Quimera but it was very comfortable and Imelda made us feel right at home! The room is comfortable and cool with a good bathroom and shower, and has everything you need. The location of the house is really good - near lots of restaurants and the steps down to Maputo waterfront, as well as some of the main sites and museums in Maputo. Imelda makes you feel very relaxed and at home, she even offered to call us Yango (taxi), and made us a delicious breakfast with fresh herbs and lemongrass tea she had grown herself!

I stayed there for two days and it was fantastic. The host is very caring and dedicated, breakfast was amazing, the garden is beautiful, the bed is comfy... all expectations were met. The area is also very secure and I faced no issues walking around.

great location, quiet place, great staff. pool available, clean rooms, clean bathroom. great breakfasts, which are always fresh and you can agree on the content with the owner. she has her own fresh herbs, so great. I chose the breakfast, which was great in two courses. if you are flying to Maputo, I recommend it. peace and privacy is great there.

Lovely place, we had a great time at Imelda‘s guesthouse. The orange room is very spacy clean and comfortable. Imelda is such a wonderful host, the breakfast was delicious!
