This is a beautiful apartment nestled in the mountains overlooking the Pacific Ocean and lush vegetation. The gardens are beautiful and just sitting on the private porch I saw both Howler and White-faced monkeys, iguanas, hummingbirds, mackaws and Blue Morpho butterflies. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to make your own meals. Two bathrooms and a very cool sunken stone shower. There is a small secluded beach within an easy ten-minute walk and less than a 20-minute drive to the large public beach in Manuel Antonio. The owner, Rosa, was exceptionally kind and accomodating and even drove with us to Quepos Marina to introduce us to friends that ran a family-run catamaran tour company. The recommendation and her introduction saved us time, energy and over $100 from the Viator prices! If we make it back, I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

“Stunning gem of a place to stay”

Beautifully and carefully decorated where Costa Rica meets African. Karibu means Welcome in Swahili. Rosa was very generous with her information. There is a large king-size bed, which is comfortable. There's also a queen size bed. The space is very generous with a gorgeous bathroom and beautiful kitchen. The highlight is the stoep or verandah which feels like it's on the edge of the jungle. It's quiet except for the birds. I could live here!

This was the perfect property for nature lovers who appreciate a calm oasis just out of the hustle of Manuel Antonio. Karibu is a pretty apartment with separate living and kitchen areas and the most unique shower! Very restful, waking up to the howler monkeys and birdsong and iguanas. Magical having breakfast on the terrace. Walking distance to a couple of restaurant options. Rosa is a great host - lots of useful tips and she arranged the best guide for us for MA park. He was really outstanding.

We enjoyed our stay . Spacious room, Bed was comfortable, great shower and beautiful terrace,we enjoed birds watching every morning, plus full kitchen. Rosa is an excellent hostess provided lots of useful recommendations for our trip.

Rosa was an extraordinary host and a remarkable person. The place ws spacious, private, comfortable, and well-equipped. The yard was beautiful. We heard parrots and monkeys and enjoyed the view from the private terrace. We were reluctant to leave and highly recommend staying here if you are looking for an intimate getaway.

We had a fabulous time at Apartamento Karibu. We received a warm welcome from Rosa and a lot of useful information about the area and what to do. The place is beautiful and accurately described in many of the reviews. The garden is stunning and we were entertained by the little humming bird, the iguanas, the agouti and the geckos. We had a fabulous time and will certainly be back.

I really liked the big patio. On one side you had ocean view and on the other side you looked right into the rain forest. Well kept garden. Host very helpful. Two very good restaurants close by.

“Excellent stay”

Very private and well equipped apartment. Host was fantastic and very helpful. The nicest place we stayed during our month in Costa Rica.

Built in a colonial style the house has lots of character - a huge air conditioned bedroom with nice terracotta tiles and a shower you could fit a small army inside. There's also a well-equipped kitchen and a large covered terrace (useful if, like us, you happen to be there in the rainy season) from which you can sit and view the wildlife (monkeys, iguanas, agouti and all kinds of birds from the comfort of your armchair or hammock. Playa La Vaca is just a 5 minute walk away for those wanting a more secluded beach but I would still recommend a car as it's a bit of a walk into the main part of town. Rosa was very welcoming and full of information on where to go and what to see.

Helpfulness of the host. Rosa went out of her way to book us a sailing tour at a good price and facilitate access to Manuel Antonio park. Quietness of the place.

Rosa’s place has everything you need and more for the most wonderful stay in Manuel Antonio. The amenities are plenty to make for the most comfortable stay and the surrounding nature and the nearby gardens are beautiful to reunite one with nature. “Great place with the best host”

When we arrived Rosa welcomed us with open heart. She gave us the full tour in the property showed us every lamp. Then she set us down for a brief of Costa Rica and the serroundings. She knows every place very well and we wish we met her Sooner. She helpe us with everything we needed, from recommendtions, parking space in the park, laundry to offering us her shoes to the rest of the trip! She is the best, she makes the place what it is. The place itself is big and very special. The room and the shower are huge. We loved the outside, the terrassa the garden the hammocks and the kitchen. We saw two agutins and iguanas. Its so close to everything you need in town and yet quiet.
