I wish I could leave a review for Residenza Academia, but I can’t because we didn’t actually stay in Residenza Academia, but Hotel Gonzaga down the road, where we were upgraded to at the last minute. The room we were given was fabulous, a good size and with a nice view overlooking the piazza. But it would dishonest of me to say this review was for Residenza Academia, because it is in fact for Hotel Gonzaga. I am not sure why we were moved (or upgraded as they said) at such short notice, I’m sure there was a good reason, but I was a little disappointed to not sleep in the room I’d seen of the Academia online. But life, as they say, goes on. Over and out.

As its name implies, accommodation here is fairly similar to a student residence: plain and functional, but… the bed was much better than students enjoy: good, hotel standard; the location could hardly be better - bang in the centre and just round the corner from the Ducal Palace and its amazing Mantegna room; dogs are welcome (at a price); and for those travelling by car, there are private parking spaces just beneath.

“Great location and had everything we needed”

The room was perfect for our two night stay of two adults and two kids. We had four single beds and we fitted fine into the room. It was located on the top floor, so nice and free from noise from other guests. The location is absolutely ideal. I'm very fussy about noise and it was handy to be just off the main touist areas, but close enough to everything to be able to explore the city wonderfully easily. The breakfast was good, in a really nice setting, and with even gluten and dairy free options.

The location is excellent, the room is clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful as they put us into another room for our second night. The first room in the courtyard was very claustrophobic and we asked to accommodated in a better room.

Perfect location in centre next to Piazza Sordelo, very kind and helpful staff, clean nice room. Absolutely fine for short stay.
