Overview
Part of the Italian Historic House Association, this listed building in the centre of Mantua dates back to the 17th century. It offers free access to its on-site museum, and unique accommodation with stone walls and original frescoes. Rooms and the self-catering apartment have antique furniture, and many original features of the building. They are air conditioned and come with free Wi-Fi, a fridge, and an LCD TV. A laptop computer is available in all rooms. Casa Museo Palazzo Valenti Gonzaga is 750 metres from the Basilica of Sant'Andrea. The Ducal Palace, Te Palace, and San Giorgio Castle are all within an 8-minute walk. A bicycle storage is provided. Coffee, tea, mineral water, and prosecco wine are available in the guests' rooms, courtesy of the Linardi family. Guests can visit Museo Valenti Gonzaga for free, which has both permanent and temporary art exhibitions, including works of Flemish painter Frans Geffels, and Italian sculptor Giovan Battista Barberini. What wasn't there to like. Spotless, in keeping withe the era, except the bathroom. Photos really don't do it justice. It is so much more beautiful in life. Will definitely stay again

This is a room in the palace of the Italian princely family Gonzaga that ruled Mantua, Italy from 1328 to 1708. It was impeccably recently restored. Located near the center of town, you will never stay in a room like this anywhere else. It incl. a modern bathroom and a separate shower. See photos.

“Poor - Definitely not self catering. No crockery, cutlery, damp coming in”

“Stunning. You could not find a more memorable place to stay.”
No breakfast but the room was exceptional. If you love art this is the place to stay. Mantova has the most memorable and exceptional museums and palaces to see. The food and wine were terrific and the people were lovely.
