“Lalee and Suba's Little Palace in Mannar.”

Excellent communication throughout the booking and while staying at Enoch Guest House where it's location is around 4kms away from Mannar Central Bus Station. My highlight was Suba's cooking skills and the friendliness of the whole family. We had a great stay and experienced many things l was dreaming, since my last visit to Mannar in 1967. Lalee and Suba were great hosts and checking up on everything constantly of our requests. He organised a very friendly and reasonably charged us for our trips to see birds, pier, Adam and Eve's burial ground, Dried fish places and the famous Baobab tree by tuk tuk driver Venkat for us during our stay. Suba made Puri, String Hoppers, Thosai, Creamed Hoppers, Crabs and Prawns for us without any fuss on our request showing her skills. Ceiling fans and air conditioner kept us cool as Mannar got very hot during the day. Would visit again and again.

Lalee & Suba are wonderful hosts, making you feel so welcome as soon as you arrive. Lalee speaks very good English & is very knowledgable. Meals were delicious & plentiful.

Liked everything about it. Stayed one night at Enoch guest house on our way to Jaffna. Should've stayed more there's lots of things to do and see as first timers. Specially the experience with the lovely family, couldn't have done more for us... Separate entrance to the lovely spacious room, had a lovely dinner barbecue fish, rice and curry. Nothing negative about my short stay. Big thank you to the lovely couple, made us welcomed after our very long tiring day.

Unfortunately, we left a few hours after arriving. Due to an unfortunate incident involving the owner, we decided to find a place to stay elsewhere. Our first impressions of this family were very positive; they offered a warm welcome and immediate, pleasant conversations. We're very pleased with this guesthouse, which has a lovely, spacious room; we highly recommend it.

“Incredible”

The breakfast and dinner was incredible, they could open a small restaurant if they wanted to. The hosts are incredibly kind. They maintain the perfect balance between making you feel comfortable and also giving you your personal space. Theyre always there when you need them. Best accomadation I had in Sri Lanka.

“Perfect spot to explore Mannar”

A simple, clean and large space to rest. Great location for exploring Mannar. The lovely hosts make this homestay truly special, nothing is too much trouble and they are always on hand to help with requests and recommendations. The food is delicious home cooking and the surrounds in a quiet part of Mannar give it a true village vibe. If you want to experience the real Sri Lanka, off the tourist track and receive the best of Sri Lankan hospitality, this is the place to visit. We will be back.

Their hospitality was warm. They’re very helpful for their guests. Would like to stay once again If we visit Mannar again in future. We had a nice and comfy stay with them.

“Unique home stay with a wonderful family”

This is a unique home stay with a wonderful family who make you feel incredibly welcome. If you’re interested in the civil war, do ask Lalee about his personal experience as it’s informative and moving and all so recent. Suba’s cooking is incredible - we had chicken curry on our first night and whole barbecued fish on the second night - amazing! Mannar is a fascinating island and well worth exploring. All in all, we can’t recommend this experience highly enough - it’s a place that we’ll never forget.

“Super nice family in Mannar”

My boyfriend and I spent such a lovely stay in this guesthouse while our visit to Mannar. The house and garden are really charming and the room spacious, with everything you’d need. The family was so welcoming, we enjoyed a lot the dinner they kindly prepared for us (a really good one!) and the conversation afterwards- we learned a lot about Sri Lanka and north culture and was a really nice exchange. Cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you guys 😄

“Enoch family hospitable guesthouse”

We booked the enoch guesthouse because we wanted to spend a night in the private Mannar on our trip to the north of the island. It was the best choice as the room was huge as was the bathroom and it was very clean and had air conditioning and a ceiling fan. I didn't mean to write anything about the amazing family that runs the accommodation, others have written about it before me, but I must say that we had the invaluable help of Lallee in the problem we faced with our rented tuk tuk and finally the problem was solved and we continued the trip to the end without any other problems.. There is a small parking area where you can leave your vehicle.Please note that the accommodation is located a little outside the center but in a quiet neighborhood.

The location is not near the city. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Lalee and Suba just guide us where to visit and how to spend the time in Mannar. The breakfast is nice, and we had vegetarian breakfast. Only thing if it would be little warm would have been more enjoyable. any way it was nice meal.

If you visit Mannar, we highly reccomend staying at Enoch Guest House. Both Lalee and Suba overflow wiith warmth and happiness. You can't help but to feel warm and happy as well in their company. The home cooked food is prepared with love. You like spicy? Suba prepares a flavorful hot meal. Dont like spice much? Suba will create a beautuful mild dish. The room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable. We had plenty of privacy and had a great night of rest when we were there. I appreciated0 learning about history of the area through Lalaas eyes. Thank you Lalee, Suba and family for a wonderful taste of Mannar!

“We had a lovely stay in the spacious upstairs room with outdoor area and great birdwatching.”

The hosts were very warm and welcoming. A wonderful dinner was served despite the fact we hadn’t been able to inform them earlier in the day that we would require an evening meal. The curry leaves and mangoes were picked from the trees on the property. The breakfast was freshly prepared and very tasty. Our hosts were extremely helpful with places to visit locally and our onward travel arrangements.
