Overview

After nearly five weeks traveling over Lake Superior enjoying its natural beauty, we were returning home to southeastern Ontario in just three days. We left Scheiber in the morning driving to Manitoulin and the Wayside Motel. Distance was more than anticipated, and we arrive late. Our host phoned us around 9:00 p.m. to ask if we were okay. His concern was appreciated and made checking it easy (...an outside light was left on so we could find our room).

“Quintessential motel stay full of charm”
The property was in a lovely location. It was clean and had been recently renovated. We loved sitting out in the comfy big muskoka chairs and had a great barbecue at the barbecue area.

“Totally satisfied”
The room was spacious and the kitchenette well stocked. It is a quiet location, and has a BBQ for everyone to use. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay!

“A Hotel like Motel. Better than expected”
The motel is clean, cozy, and well cared for. Despite being located right off Highway 6, it’s impressively quiet — we didn’t hear any noise throughout our stay. The location is also not bad, with most major attractions just around 10-20 mins drive.

The host did not clean the kettle which was used for cooking milk by the former guest. The fridge is not clean enough.

“Very convenient, great location, spacious room”
Very nice room and bathroom, located right off Highway 6. Double pane large window assured total sound insulation. Thirty minute drive to the ferry boat to Tobermory

Everything was new and well thought out. Kitchenette with microwave, pots and pans, flatware etc. Large room, well lit with comfortable bed. Effective blackout curtains. Windows back and front.
