The location is so beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable but restaurant is simply amazing. The food was exceptional, really really good cooking and when it’s paired with the house red & white it just made for such a memorable experience. Vanessa is an amazing person and host, truly showcasing hospitality at it best. Very kind and very helpful. An amazing experience.

The location is absolutely stunning unbelievably beautiful and rural.! The host is amazingly helpful and proactive! The dinner in the restaurant was unbelievable. I think the words dondi the justice to this place. Probably the best places I have ever stayed, even though I have been in almost 50 countries.

“Beautiful little hotel surrounded by nature”

This is a very special place, unlike your average Hotel in the village. La Selvaggia is at the upper end of Mandello in the middle of the beautiful nature away from everything - almost like a mountain hut. We were in Mandello for the Moto Guzzi Festival and we really enjoyed being able to get away from all of the people and the noise when going back to the hotel in the evening. The property is very well kept and there is a beautiful pool as well. You can see in everything that this is an owner run family business. It's just got this family touch. We only got to meet Vanessa and she was super nice. While we liked the fact that this place is a bit remote, it might not be right for everyone. It's a 7-8 minute walk from the parking up to the hotel on a nature path. Nothing crazy and a lovely walk but if you are not so stable on your feet, it's not ideal. Vanessa will be happy to offer you and your luggage a lift between the parking and the hotel (quite an experience) but of course she can't do it every time you come/go.

The apartment was nice with a spacious bathroom and a decently equipped kitchen. The AC came in very handy.

It was a wonderful stay! An incredible location overlooking the lake, plenty of open park space for our puppy to run around and lovely staff - really friendly and helpful! Will definitely come again.

The host did not consider us at all about canceling the night, We paid full price for two nights and slept only one night. The bed was not comfortable at all The apartment had a scorpion and we have pictures The stove was induction and we could not cook with the utensils we brought with us, we just did not update what type of stove. It was very hot until we slept .. and this after the landlord explicitly said that the rooms were cold and cozy. Just the host lied to us.

“Beauty and Relaxation in the Mountains”

We loved the beauty and quietness of being in the mountains and that we could leave straight from our room for a hike. This was the most comfortable apartment with a kitchenette that we stayed it. Everything is brand new and spotless. The bathroom is large and the room was spacious. The hosts are very nice and Vanessa answered immediately on whatsapp in English. It's a little over 20 minutes to drive to Varenna from the parking lot so it's easy to drive over to visit - preferably after the day crowds leave. There is a supermarket in town and of course the Agriturismo has it's own restaurant. Dinner was plentiful (you might want to fast all day to have room!) They even made special vegan dishes for one of us.
