“Do not book this place!!!!!”

The place is absolutely nothing like on the pictures online. It’s a scam. It’s dirty, dark, noisy. The common area is run down, all the benches and bean bags are dirty to a point we did not even want to sit down. The pool is dirty and way smaller than on the picture. The room was not clean, the bathroom was weathered, the wood of the house is old and extremely stained. On top it is very unsafe because the power sockets were broken and hanging off the wall right next to the sink. We left right the next day. When we kindly gave feedback and politely asked for a refund, they refused although they ADMITTED THAT THE PLACE AT THE MOMENT IS RUNDOWN! They told us they experienced heavy rainfalls and therefore the place does not look like on the pictures anymore. They admitted it needed renovation but did not understand how problematic it is to have misleading pictures on travel platforms. Whoever gives negative feedback and negative reviews, is accused of having to high expectations. We arrived at the Eco lodge without misconceptions what the place is gonna be. We wanted a cozy, chill and eco place, and found a dirty, rundown hostel that on top felt unsafe and way too loud to even get one minute rest a night. We loved the concept of la maison and thought the pictures online looked beautiful. (A chill place to relax in the north of Peru after adventures in the south) But we felt very misled given the current condition..we were in no way expecting a hotel experience as much as the owners tried to accuse us of afterwards 😂. (Very strange and very gaslighty*) The area feels incredibly unsafe, so does the entire town. Very pushy locals, very dirty restaurants, very sketchy streets. We have been traveling to places, hotels, airbnbs, hostels, etc in the past 10 years – but this was by far the worst experience.

“Amazing place”

Rooms are very nice and comfortable, the place has a nice vibe. The breakfast was amazing and the staff were incredible, especially Miguel. Close to the beach and restaurants.

I found that La Mansion provided everything to have a good experience. Tania the manager makes a special effort to connect with everyone and make sure they have what they need. She is also very knowledgeable on the best things to do and where to eat etc. The breakfast is generous and delicious, and the environment they created is a lovely oasis of relaxation and natural beauty. I highly recommend it!

La Maison is an ideal spot if you are a young solo traveller looking to meet people, make friends and immerse yourself into the kite surfing community of Mancora. Breakfast is a delicious selection of fresh fruit and pancakes if you are staying on a Sunday ! The host was extremely helpful in pointing out cash machines in town, navigating the city, sharing recommendations for good food spots and making travel seamless with recommendations of how to get to & from airport. She is also a fantastic baker and you can purchase her cookies or cake at the hotel :)

“Lovely place to reset”

Little paradise. Breakfast is so great. We got lucky and got upgraded so we got to stay in a huge and beautiful room with a balcony. Close to restaurant & bars. And 5min walk to the beach.

“Perfect for a few days as a solo traveller”

Yoga every morning, fantastic breakfast - really fresh fruit, lovely staff especially Tatty who gave me lots of recommendations, 5 min walk to Mancora town/beach but far enough away that it's quiet, nice vibe very chilled.

It feels like coming home on a little island. Very friendly and chill staff and owners. Fresh and tasty breakfast. Close to the beach for surfing. I was sad to leave this amazing place.

La maison is an Oasis of calm in the busy town of Mancora. The property is beautiful, the rooms comfortable and the breakfast delicious. The price is low for what you get. Additionally, Tanya the owner is the sweetest. She will hook you up with the best recommendation and is very helpful and attentive. I left for one day to go join some friends at an another hotel, but it was so noisy I came back to La Maison right away. I can only recommend this place!

Highly recommend the place. Its serene atmosphere and location make the place a genuine oasis and haven from the world. The location is a huge plus, hidden from the busty Mancora allowing to take a breath and just relax, the beach is just few steps away which gives an opportunity to enjoy the place fully. Though what's more important - it's the people that make the atmosphere, and the whole staff is extremely helpful and welcoming. You really feel that people care, which make the experience even more serene.

Great location and amazing hosts. Spacious and comfortable rooms. We had the largest room in the place with a king size bed and comfy mattress. The host Tania is also an amazing person. She is friendly and knowledgeable about the area and goes above and beyond in giving advice on activities and restaurants and helping you book them.

Really nice surroundings

The best part is honestly the feel of the place and the staff. Everything about our stay was great but Tanya was especially helpful with her recommendations and accommodations, meeting our every need. The location is only a few minutes from town and provides a much quieter and more secluded environment. Strongly recommend
