Il Gelso is a rustic vacation spot. The staff are kind and helpful. Francesca was a wonderful host and helped us throughout our stay! The room was large, air conditioned and tidy. The beach is a 10 minute walk with many stairs to access. Bring watershoes to navigate the rocks, there are mattresses for rental.

“Delightful Island Stay”

Really lovely B&B in a great location. Feels very private, but is also close to the beach, centre of town, restaurants and bars, and buses to other parts of the island. Francesca was the perfect host with lots of great recommendations and always so helpful. Breakfast on the beautiful terrace is delightful. Room was extremely spacious and contained everything needed for a comfortable stay. Would absolutely stay again!

The room, property and location were all wonderful. Walking distance to a lovely cove, and the Malfa town. The staff were all incredibly kind, helpful and accomodating. Would 100% recommend and we hope to be back.

The room was large, clean, secure and comfortable with a great view over the garden, vineyards and sea. The host was welcoming and friendly, and served us a delicious breakfast in the morning. The terrace upstairs had an even better view of the sea for breakfast and self made aperitifs.

“Wonderful oasis in picturesque Malfa”

Our stay at Il Gelso was delightful. The location was ideal, just a stone's throw away from Punta Scario beach and the centre of Malfa, with a supermarket/ATM/bus stop just a bit further up from there. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a handy patio area with lounge chairs and a hammock. Breakfast - which itself is a rich affair of sweet delicacies (the sweet ricotta croissants!) - is served on a beautiful terrace with 360° view of the surrounding hills and the sea. But above all it was Paolo (the host) who made the stay truly unforgettable - he went above and beyond to satisfy all our requests. Grazie Paolo!

The location is great, close to both the beach and the town of Malfa. The room was spacious and clean with a terrace with a hammock and sun chairs out front.

Paola was excellent in taking care of our needs. Arranging for taxi pick up from wharf etc. and was very helpful in suggesting sights and restaurants.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Il Gelso Vacanze. Our room was clean and roomy, we loved the huge terrace off our room. Breakfast could not be faulted, thankyou Paolo for all your help. We highly recommend il Gelso.

“Amazing stay!”

We stayed four nights at Il Geslo Vacanze, Paolo and Gianfranco were really great hosts providing information about buses, maps and help when necessary. The room was great with a magnificent seaview (and a hammock to enjoy the sun). The breakfast on the terrasse were a great way to to start and plan the day ! Overall, a really great stay ! We would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Salina !

“Really nice”

Laid back vibe in lovely location with great views and great proximity to restaurants and town main square and also beautiful beach. Gianfranco and Luciano were both very helpful with advice about travel and places to go and see. The room was a good size with a nice balcony with a great view (including a hammock) and everything worked perfectly.

“Super friendly and thoroughly enjoyable stay”

We had a really wonderful 3-day stay at Il Gelso Vacanze, located in Malfa. It was close to the heart of the village, and also a short walk down some very interesting and safe laneways, past ripe figs, to the local beach (Spiaggia dello Scario (you have to visit!). Giafranco was super helpful, made great breakfasts on the deck, and gave us lots of tips for things to do and see. We couldnt fault our stay.

We truly loved every part of our 10 day stay at Il Gelso. Malfa is a beautiful town and the hotel location was perfect. Il Gelso is a short stroll to the shops, local restaurants and to the beach. Our traditional room was large with a private terrace and had a lovely ocean view. The daily breakfast was delicious and served on the terrace with beautiful views. The room was very clean and serviced daily. We couldn't have wished for anymore. We felt very relaxed and at home here. Gianfranco was a wonderful host; welcoming, friendly, helpful and we will always remember his kindness, it really made our stay. We look forward to returning again and would highly recommend a stay at Il Gelso.
