Our stay at Buhala Lodge was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed by the friendly staff, who went above and beyond to make sure every detail of our visit was perfect. The lodge itself is stunning, blending comfort with the natural beauty of its surroundings. Situated right on the banks of the Crocodile River, the views were simply breathtaking! We were able to watch elephants, hippos, buffalos, crocodiles on our side of the river as well as giraffes and many more animals on the other side (the Kruger side) of the river. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully designed to provide both luxury and a sense of connection with nature. Dining was another highlight: the meals were delicious, fresh, and full of local flavor. Each dinner felt very special, enjoyed on the terrace under the stars. What made the stay truly remarkable, though, was the service. The team at Buhala was attentive, kind, and genuinely passionate about making guests feel at home. If you’re looking for a place that combines luxury, relaxation, and the magic of the African bush, Buhala Lodge is the perfect choice. We left with lifelong memories and a deep desire to return!!

“Bucket list adventure”

First time ever safari stay and it was like a dream. In many ways a 5 star experience if you measure that I’m a bucket list kind of way. Do not visit thinking it’s a typical 5 star hotel, it’s not - but on the experience of elephants feeding right in front of your balcony and seeing rhinos, hippos across the crocodile river - is better than five stars. The restaurant is amazing - could be Michelin !! And the safari guide was incredible !! The massages were amazing too. Do not miss this special experience. We are so thankful.

“AMAZING!”

It’s located on a beautiful place at the Crocodile River. You see the most amazing animals looking from the terrace. They have the most awesome people working there. So friendly, funny and caring. The food and the wine are from high quality and especially the place where you eat is really amazing. We took a safari tour with Connor, he can tell you everything about the animals, the trees, the birds. We had an amazing safari. Thank you Ally, Connor, Bianca and all the other amazing people ❤️.

You can not take away the view of the place. The elephant suite had amazing facilities like a private pool and a view to die for. With a television and dstv as well as tuen down service with a little sweet surprise every night. Nice touch. The suite was cleaned every day. The safari was amazing. But a little too short for the guide that was well knowledged to explain to foreign tourists the smaller details of the the Kruger. Also, there was not a break to maybe use the toilet facilities for a 4 to 4 and half hour safari. The food is good.

Our stay at Buhala lodge was beyond our expectations, from the place, the small personal touches in every corner, the staff, everything was perfect. We were there for a few days of our honey moon and they even choose a room with views to the river from every corner of the room. “A Dream experience!”

I’ll start by saying that this is the best place to stay in Kruger. Although I was initially skeptical about the 5-star rating, I was quickly proven wrong upon our arrival. Location The lodge is situated in the southern part of Kruger, an area particularly rich in wildlife, and overlooks a vast river. From here, you can observe impalas, crocodiles, elephants, and hippos. The view is simply breathtaking! Accommodation We spent two nights in a beautiful room on the first floor, with a magnificent view of the river. It was truly a dream come true. The room was spacious and equipped with every imaginable comfort, including a shower, bathtub, and two sinks, all with a river view. An unforgettable experience. Services and Dining The service provided by the staff was impeccable; everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea in the common area was much appreciated, and the delicious dinners outdoors with a river view deserve special mention. Safari Experience The highlight of our vacation was the full-day safari, accompanied by an exceptional guide who was a biology graduate and deeply passionate about wildlife. Her expertise allowed us to deepen our understanding of every animal we encountered, offering us the chance to calmly observe every detail of life in the park, without rushing (unlike other safaris where you simply take a photo and move on). Overall, staying at Buhala was the most extraordinary experience of our entire vacation. I highly recommend it, as it is a much more intimate lodge compared to others we visited. Later on, we stayed in other lodges, but none were comparable to this one, neither in terms of quality nor price (we paid more for places of lower quality).

Immaculate Gardens and well maintained facility. Great view over the river into Kruger. Animals from Kruger come over the river into the Lodges facilities. The on site day spa was excellent as well!

Buhala Lodge is a very good place to visit the Kruger Park. The view on the river is spectacular. And the staff is really great and supportive. Last but not least also the food was really good! We really enjoyed our stay! Next time we will stay longer!
