This intimate hotel is situated in Makkum near the IJsselmeer, a 20-minute drive from Sneek. Waag features free Wi-Fi, a terrace and a bar with darts and a billiard table. All of the rooms at De Waag have a flat-screen cable TV and a work desk. Guests can enjoy a buffet breakfast every morning. Dutch pancake house De Waag offers international cuisine served in elegant surroundings and prepared with local ingredients whenever possible. There is also a set menu which uses seasonal produce. De Waag is less than a 40-minute drive from Leeuwaarden which features sights including Aqua Zoo Friesland and the Resistance Museum. National Park De Alde Feanen is a 50-minute car journey away.

The manager of the hotel is very friendly, open and welcoming. The location of the hotel could hardly be better, and the parking behind the hotel was safe. The bistro on the ground floor was modern and the coffee was good.

“Very handy place for exploring this really quaint town of Makkum- a must see place.”
Lovely airy room with views over the market square. Had Pizza from restaurant next door. Host was very willing to get us extra pillows and coffee sachets, and provided a safe place for our bikes.

“very outdated”
Location was right in town center which is why we chose it as we attended a wedding around the corner. staff at reception was very friendly and helpful and offered a quieter room at the back of the property as there was live music until 1am in the front

There was a wide variety of choice for breakfast. Personnel was really kind and welcoming, at disposal for any issue. Location was perfect for me, right in the center. Optional dinner at the restaurant inside was very good.

The room was very clean and had everything that I needed (towels, care-products, etc.). The bed was really good and the service of the staff was excellent. They are very helpful.
