Nestled on the banks of the Cubango River, Shankara Rest Camp is located 81 km east of Rundu on the B8. Surrounded by nature, the camp offers fishing and bird watching opportunities. The double chalets offers river views, a kitchenette and a seating area. The family chalets have a patio, garden view and a fully equipped kitchen. All units have access to barbecue facilities. Shankara Rest Camp has a garden with luscious lawns under huge shady indigenous trees. Guests can relax by the pool. The camp offers sunset cruises, hippo, crocodile, otter viewing and fishing trips. Etosha National Park is 496 km from the camp and Bwabwata National Park is a 1.5 hour drive away.

“Lazy stay”
Very peacefull and birds were beautifull! The Chalet was nice and clean. We loved the 2 dogs!! Very loving and friendly!!

“Beautiful location. Value for money !”
The setting, right on the river, was beautiful. The garden was magical. The boat trip was fantastic and by far the cheapest, and one of the highlights of our holiday. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Everything was good only the deck was slightly dangerous and not being maintained. Overall the site can do with some tlc but I think the covid scam has ruined many people's livelihood and businesses

“Very peaceful and relaxing place next to river. Great stopover at Caprivi Strip.”
Quiet and safe place to relax next to an Angolan border river. Hippos can be spotted from the terrace. Lot more hippos when having a fishing trip. Very nice host couple.

“Wonderful stay, will definitely return.”
The location is beautiful. The viewing jetty and set-up are well planned and the rustic furniture add to the charm of the location. Gardens are beautiful and well kept. Ice and fire wood available to purchase.
