“Stunning rustic getaway”
On finding this place, we were initially so excited to visit. However, as we started to read through the reviews we became increasingly apprehensive of the bugs, cleanliness, etc. Eventually we decided to take the plunge and we are so glad we did!! If you are looking for luxury, this isn't for you but we loved our 2 night stay here. Staff were wonderful, free kayaking & snorkling right from the beach. As mentioned on other reviews, we did see the washed-up plastic on the beach but it didn't take away from the beautiful sea (there was nonsea grass issue during our stay). Yes, the mosquitos are bad but we covered up for sunset and made sure our mozzie net was well sealed. The rooms are basic but spacious, airy, and have great mosquito nets over the bed with white sheets. Mosquitos meant we went to bed early and woke up early for the stunning sunrise.

Amazing location, only a few people, friendly staff and delicious dinner. We stayed for one night, enjoyed the peace and quiet of this place, one of the most relaxing stops on our roadtrip.

The cabana was full of holes that let all the insects come inside , the beach and the sea were covered fully by sargassum and plastic as well. Noone warned us of the situation of the sargassum, the smell was terrible, almost we couldn't sleep because of it. Nobody checked if we need something. There was nothing close for supplies and in the facilities it was forbidden to bring your own food. We had to leave the second night to search for another room and noone even noticed.

Overall it was super nice. The location was the best part for us because it was really quiet, peaceful and beautiful. You have your own private beach for a moment with a bungalow few steps away. Paradise!

“Wonderfull quiet getaway, if the weather allows for it”
After reading a few mixed reviews we deciced to take our chances and book a cabin at cabanas ecoturisticas. When we arrived we were greated by the owner and he was very kind and explained everything very well. The cabin we had was clean, the musquito net was fully funtional, and while it was basic (which you would expect for a location so remote as this) it had solar electricity and even wifi. It did not have a fan or AC, which is expected but good to keep in mind. Dinner at the restaurant was good (large portions, decent quality), but you do have to order before 6 PM There was quite a bit of seaweed at the beach, however we were at Tulum before and it was a similar amount and I believe this is something you will see along the full coast. Reading the reviews it seems like the main reason visitors do not like the place are the musquitos and the seaweed and the smell of it. We arrived on a windy day and both were not a problem, however the day we left there was no wind and at that point you started to smell the seaweed a bit. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and with the weather we had a great time.
