This place is a little sanctuary, about 45 mins walk outside Aguas Calientes, or on the way in if you are walking along the train tracks. Its comfortable, clean, friendly and so much more. Verandah with hammocks overlooking the river, a hummingbird garden and across the track is a nature park with waterfalls and a hike up through rainforest to a view of MP. Food is great, set menu at night, cafe during day. Love it.

Fantastic spot opposite a little private garden. Friendly, helpful and hospitable folks. We sat and watched hummingbirds on the river for hours. Delicious food!

Beautiful and very quiet place 30 minutes walk from the machu picchu entrance. They have a beautiful garden with a waterfall which you can access for free. They are on the side of the river with a hummingbird sanctuary. Small room with a shared bathroom. The food was great and the host were very welcoming. You have to get there by walk but we were already passing there so it was perfect.

“A truly magical place!”
This is one of the vibiest places I’ve ever stayed at! The nature is simply incredible – dozens of birds (including hummingbirds!) in the backyard, fireflies at night, plenty of cozy spots to chill and relax, super attentive and friendly staff, and the sweetest dogs and cats:) No joke, I felt like a Disney princess there😅 And the mountain views at sunset are just breathtaking. Highly, highly recommend💛

Casa Mandor is right in the nature, away from the crowds of Aguas Calientes. It is basic and you have everything you need. The staff is nice and it is quiet at night.

The location is wonderful, a peaceful place in the forest right on the river. The walk to Machu Pichu added to the experience in our opinion. There are beautiful hummingbirds and motmots that visit the garden! We also enjoyed walking their trail to the waterfall and doing some birdwatching. The kitchen staff were so lovely and thoughtful, making delicious meals and packing our breakfast the night before when we had an early start. Our room was comfortable (basic but pleasant) and the shower was hot.

“good location, but too many weird animals coming into the room”
- Breakfast and dinner were both tasty - The room was clean (we were kindly upgraded to the cabin) - Clean, hot shower (we got the private bathroom) - Pretty location with a nice garden - Friendly staff - Strategically located if you: 1. Already have your Machu Picchu tickets and don‘t need to go to Aguas Calientes for anything 2. Walk in from Hidroelectrica In that case you save yourself quite a bit of walking and/or transport costs.

“Beautiful”
Beautiful place. Hummingbirds by the river in the garden. Very friendly hosts (gracias Erwin y Jasmine :)). Rico desayuno. They allowed me to have my breakfast when I returned from macchu picchu. Walk from this hostel to macchu picchu entrance takes approx. 90minutes total (30mins to bridge at the bottom of the trail, 60mins to the top). When I went up I was alone and it was peaceful. If you already have a ticket for Macchu Picchu this is perfect because you save approximately 2-3 hours walking [in total] if coming from and going back to hidroelectrica. It was serene. Bugs weren't an issue for me, there were a few but I was expecting much worse. Hot shower. Towel and soap given and reasonably clean spaces. Walk from hidroelectrica takes exactly 90minutes, flat walk. Utube qztours if you want to see how I did it

Detailed Honest Review--- This hostel is obviously for people who took the bus & walking from Hidro & Also hiking to the ruins. It's 1 hour 30 mins from Hidro and 50 mins to Aguas Calientes from hostel. It's 30 mins to check point of Machu and I climbed up in 1 hour 15 mins( mix of stairs & walk where buses pass- recommend that, better scenery & little waterfalls to refresh). Beautiful pond behind the hostel, very quiet & comfortable. Best to avoid that shit town, Aguas Calientes. Breakfast is 20 soles, dinner is 25 soles & beer is 8 soles

Such a beautiful place to spend a day or two before do your treck to Machu Picchu. The host is really nice lady and her burgers are amazing. There is a wonderful terrace next to the river (you need to fight the mosquitoes) where you can enjoy and watch the birds. Also, the waterfall area next to the hostel is beautiful and worth visiting. The only problem is the slow wifi, but when you are there, it is better to enjoy the nature than tiktok or instagram 😀

“Very comfortable and welcoming stay with perfect location to get to machu picchu the next day.”
Hosts were very welcoming, dinner was delicious and location was perfect to get to machu picchu next day. We were able to leave bags at the property when travelling to machu picchu as we took a bus back from hydroelectrica. The botanical gardens were very nice to walk around nearby.

“Best place to stay to go to Machu Picchu”
I couldn't have stayed in a better place! A very pleasant space in contact with nature and 20 minutes away from the entrance to Machu Picchu! The hosts welcomed me very well from the beginning, being very friendly and polite, helping me with information on how to get to Machu Picchu and prompt in their services. The rooms are very comfortable, everything is rustic and spacious, the bed is very comfortable, I had the best night's sleep of the trip! Thank you to the super welcoming couple and I decided to use the service, I would definitely come back.

The place is ideal if you want to visit Machu Picchu the next day and you don't want to experience the noise and crowd of Aguas Calientes. Furthermore, if you are walking back from Machu Picchu to Hidroelectrica to get the colectivo back to Cusco, you will pass by Mandor, where you can leave your luggage. It is on the railway path, in a quiet and beautiful location. Bring mosquito spray! It is possible to visit (for 10 soles instead of 20) the Mandor botanical garden, a really beautiful area with a small river and waterfalls where you can also swim, ideal to cool down after visiting the Inca town. The room was comfortable and the shower was hot, the staff was super kind and helpful.

“Nice place, quite far from Aguas Calientes”
Nice family-owned place. Rooms were a bit dated, but fine and quite comfortable. There was okay WiFi and the dinners were great and affordable. Lobely terraza and amazing Mandor, which you can enter how many times you like. We liked staying here.
