Pool is great - small but gets plenty of sun and looks out over the sea. Restaurant is very nice - good value and some very nice dishes. Rooms are old but clean and have plenty of vintage charm and the balcony is a fine place to sit with a morning coffee. In the evening, I gave the bartender the recipe for two cocktails and he generously offered them to us free of charge. The staff here are always polite and friendly.

We liked the location and environment, the quiet, the traditional feel of the Pousada, the comfort of the room and the bed, the cleanliness, the balcony, the bathroom with its proper bath and basin, the hot water, the aircon and the helpful staff at the reception. The accommodation was excellent and very good value.

This place has an unbeatable view on offer, a rare find in Macau location wise. We could hear birds singing and it’s a nice change to other typical hotels in Macau. Nice warm shower/bath, comfortable bed. We had dinner at the Portuguese restaurant onsite and got discount for being hotel guests. If you are into something different, this is definitely recommended. Quite a romantic spot I’ve found.

The atmosphere and views from the balcony were really wonderful. It was the perfect escape from the busy and traffic locked downtown Macau. The dining room and terrace were perfect with a great feel of a country hotel in Portugal. The breakfast and service were excellent, and the dining area had a great ambience. The beach was just across the road, great for a swim.

Pousada de Coloan is located in a quiet, remote part of Macau, surrounded by the sea on one side and lush greenery on the others. If you are looking for a peaceful and tranquil place away from the busy city, this hotel is an excellent choice. I really liked the interior of the room — it feels like staying in a traditional, old-style Portuguese hotel. The view from the window was beautiful, with the sea very close, greenery all around, and a sense of calm and silence. The small restaurant was pleasant, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I accidentally forgot my coat in the room, and the hotel kindly sent it to me by post, which was incredibly thoughtful and much appreciated. Another lovely touch was the complimentary drinks served in the lounge area — it felt very warm and personal, and my son especially loved the plum drink. Although the hotel is not new, it offers excellent value for money, and our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.

“Great location, a bit quirky but a nice visit.”

This hotel is in a great location, right on the beach, quiet, except for the sound of waves, which we could hear from from the balcony. We visited in December, but it was warm enough for an early morning swim in the sea. It is walking distance (about 25 minutes) to the famous Fernandos restaurant and easy to catch buses elsewhere. The staff are nice, the balconies are a good size with a nice view, as is the terrace and the breakfast room is pleasant. The room has a kettle and a fridge.
