The best place we’ve stayed in Maldives. Everyone was so kind, we received very warm welcome, the place was clean, our room was cleaned spotless every day. The breakfast was delicious as well. We hope to return one day.

Super clean, best bathroom so far and they think about everything! The room was prepared in a beautiful way and you’ll receive a surprise upon arrival. They put the fan outside and mosquito spray and lotion against the mosquitoes. They pick you up and drip you off and the breakfast is amazing!!!! They take you around the island and show you everything and take care of your bag! There is a bikini beach which on this island is called guest beach, on the sunset side. I don’t agree with feeding sharks but they do offer guests to see the shark feeding in the evening. We didn’t go. Thank you so much for the great hosting and taking care of everything! Very interesting island, as it is the most functional local island we went to and cool to see how they live. There are 12 amazing restaurants. Maamigili is known for the good food!

From the very beginning we were made to feel so welcome. The family and staff couldn’t do enough for us - it was like staying with friends. They collected us from the airport, treated us to a mini trip round the island and dropped us off at a restaurant that served delicious soup. In the morning, at our request, we were given a lovely breakfast beautifully laid up in our room. Rai the owner was easy to contact via WhatsApp if we needed anything. The property itself wasmodern and very attractive. It was just a shame we were only there for one night before boarding a boat.

“An Oasis in Maamigili”

An oasis in Maamigili, from the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were made to feel like a VIP guests. The experience was wonderful. Rai Bob and Rafi ensure you want for nothing during your stay at Villa residences We were greeted at the ferry terminal and taken to our accommodation where we received a welcome drink and cold towels to freshen up with.. Rai introduced the island to us, explained the different excursions that they could offer and arrange for us and send us a great deal of information via WhatsApp so that we could read and digest at our leisure. The reception area and the courtyard which really double as the dining area and social area is immaculate. Well maintained in terms of the foliage, we understand that there was a lot of mosquitoes last year and having spoken to returning guests we know that the number is now significantly reduced. What was nice though is the fact that there is anti-mosquito spray on all tables and provided in all rooms, an indication that they’re thinking about the guests and their needs. The mosquitoes were not a problem during our stay. After a welcome we were shown to our room which was nicely chilled. Thanks to the very efficient air conditioning unit. The bed was decorated with petals, which was a lovely touch. The room was spacious well fitted out clean and smelt fresh. The room has a really comfortable double, with white cotton sheets and, always a bonus, two pillows per person! Our room had a ‘ welcome’ fruit bowl, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities fresh and bottled chilled water was provided each day. The room was serviced to a high standard every daily. We enjoyed watching the television in our room as well as listening to the music on the television in reception area and the reels of marine life that were sometimes playing, very relaxing. After we checked in, we were taken on a complimentary island tour which helped us to orientate ourselves to the island.

Loved how staff care about ensuring customers have everything they need to enjoy their stay. Their attention to details, availability to answer questions and the offering of all kid of activities to enjoy this island is fabulous. Room big and clean, terrace environment quiet and lovely.

“Clean, comfortable hotel in a good location”

The property was very clean and the staff were very attentive. The room was very comfortable but could do with some drawers to put clothes in. The free wifi was good but on a couple of occasions didn’t work The breakfast was very good. The hotel was in a good location about a 5 minute walk from the bikini beach and near to all the restaurants The staff and owners were very helpful and were always available to help me

“Maldives off the beaten track”

I spent 7 nights at Vilu Residence and can strongly recommend this guesthouse to anyone who wants to discover the incredible beauty of the Maldives off the beaten track of island resorts. Here, you will have the comfort, peace, and charm of going as local as you can. The guesthouse is run by an extremely helpful and friendly host, who will provide you with the most detailed advice about the restaurants on the island; he will also assist you in organizing day trips and outings from the island. Rai will go out of his way to accommodate your needs. He met me on arrival and took me to the airport before I flew back to Malé. He also arranged my transfers to and from the island by speed boat and plane. The breakfast provided was delicious and fulfilling. It was also varied, giving me a choice and taste of continental and Maldivian options. The guesthouse itself is new, clean, and well equipped. The staff look after it thoroughly. The village has 2 amazing beaches, one of which - the guest beach - is a perfect place for relaxation and exercise. If I could, I would return to Villu Residence for a retreat, combining work and rest. If you have not decided yet on where to stay in the Maldives, you should select this accommodation.

Very beautiful rooms, close to the divecentre on Maamigili and very close to the beach. They provide a PDF on arrival with all kind of tips for during your stay at the island.

“Perfect”

Incredible hotel!! The best reception and hotel I have ever experienced in 10 months of travel, everything is perfect. The host is very, very kind, he can help you with anything and is very attentive to your needs. The breakfast is very good and plentiful, you can ask for it at any time you want and even request to customize it. The room is clean and spacious, the bed is very comfortable, and the bathroom is large. Go there with your eyes closed, it's truly a great hotel!!!

I spent 2 weeks on Maamigili Island in this residence. I can recommend accommodation here for the following reasons: - cleanliness, the hotel is new - Very good price - breakfast - is to choose your preferences in terms of ingredients (pancakes, omelette, oatmeal, fruit and others) - communication with employees at a high level. -The hotel manager Rai is available throughout the holiday and helped me achieve a relaxing holiday without any complications

“An excellent facility that is worth recommending and to which you want to return”

The Vilu Residence facility exceeded our expectations. The property manager Rai and the entire staff made us feel like special and welcome guests (from the moment we arrived from Male to the moment we left). Their level of empathy and anticipation of our expectations and preferences can be compared to staying at a 5 star resort. The staff, at our request, completely planned and provided us with several excursions to neighbouring islands (including Dhigurah, Dhiddhoo and Fenfushi). When staying at Vilu Residence, it is worth booking the additional excursions offered by the property: dolphin watching, swimming with whale sharks and swimming with sea turtles on the reef. Their price is moderate and adequate. The facility is new, incredibly clean and ergonomic (everything is in its place). Wifi and air conditioning worked perfectly. Once out of the room, guests have exclusive use of the intimate and elegant patio (which makes the space available to guests much larger). The bikini beach is about a 5-minute walk away. The excellent breakfasts served directly by Rai are to be commended (in particular the slightly spicy original Maldivian-style breakfasts). Standard continental-style breakfasts are also available. The island of Maamigili itself is a good location in terms of transport (airport, regular ferry connections to other islands and about 1 hour and 45 minutes by speed boat from Malé (making the cost of getting from Malé lower and shorter than to other more distant atolls). I wholeheartedly recommend Vilu Residence and Rai. We will definitely be returning.

Trust all the positive reviews here, like I did, and you'll have an amazing stay here. There's not much to do on the island of Maamigili besides diving or snorkeling, but this hotel made my time on this island simply fantastic. I came here after a 5-star resort, and honestly didn't notice any difference in the quality of service :) Everything, from communication in the chat, organizing transfers to and from the island, absolute cleanliness and coziness of the room, was simply top-notch. The guys help with all questions, solve all problems, are extremely caring and friendly to their guests, and just great guys to talk to and be around. They'll advise, assist, organize, feed, and transport you. I'm honestly in love with this place and can confidently recommend it again and again.
