David's place was fantastic, very clean and spacious. David himself is a great host, considerate and thoughtful about our needs, and a wealth of information about the local area and activities.

We had a great time at this homestay! The room is very spacious and there is a lot of outdoor area to relax in. The host was amazing and really tried to help us the best way possible. Also, she is a great cook and we really enjoyed the home cooked meals here.

The homestay is really beautiful and very peaceful. Our room was very comfortable and with lovely self made wood furniture. We had a small terrace and garden in front of our room and a very nice bathroom. The hosts were super welcoming and helpful with planning our hikes in the surrounding area. At night they made a fire in the garden. The last couple of hundred meters to the place are very steep, which is typical in the area. It’s about 30 minutes walking to Lushoto or 5 minutes by transport with motorcycle. We would definitely come back, especially once the pool they are building is finished :)

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! The accommodation/the team exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately, didn't have much time to explore the area so only spent two nights. Two really good nights after Kilimanjaro experience. Had booked a bed at the dormitory but Dave kindly changed for a three bed room (also because some logistic). The conditions were very good and you could feel that you were totally immerse in nature! (The strong feeling I was looking for before continuing my trip.) The food was AMAZING! Sooo tasty, recommend the pilau and everything else :D. David family is very welcoming as well! David put me in contact with Rashidi, he was my guide for a day hike at the nearest reserve (Magamba Forest). Need to say that is extraordinary! If you want a guide that knows the fauna&flora better than anymore you should have him! Couldn't ask for better treatment for all of them! Looking forward to return and see how amazing David's place will be with the works (I didn't notice any noise from the works!!) Thank you for the good days!

We stayed 3 nights at David's place and couldn't be happier! David has built a very nice place with nice houses and a great garden. It is still being expanded and we would like to see the result when everything is finished, because it will certainly be even better! The room was very cozy and clean, it is also worth mentioning that the shower is the best (and hottest) we can remember having experienced in Africa. The food was delicious! Not to mention, David and the rest of the staff were wonderful hosts. David helped us with anything we needed. We can't help but recommend this place warmly, and wish David and his family all the best!

Lovely garden with chameleons and beautiful flowers. Very nice room with super comfy beds and private bathroom with hot showers. Delicious breakfast and possibility to order other tasty meals.The owner David is very responsive and helped us to get tickets to and from Lushoto and arranged great tours. We had wonderful stay !

A wonderful homestay in the hills. The place is full of greenery and peace. If you want to relax and calm your mind, this is the place. Me and my family loved this place. From bornfire, to breakfasts to their green fields. Special mention to the owner, Mr David. Always ready to help. Overall, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a perfect combination of warm hospitality, great food, and unforgettable experiences in Lushoto! They have two friendly dogs too. You will just love them.

Nice location outside of lushoto so quiet in the nature. Lushoto 20 min by walk Confortable appartement They offer hiking tour with nice guide (big up to our guide Rashidi!) Breakfast and food is very good They do firebone everynight. David was really helpful with our bus ticket booking

David is extremely friendly and helpful, he helped us with the onward transport to Pangani and recommended us a nice accommodation there, the shower is amazing, room is spacious and clean, bed is comfortable and warm, nice garden and fireplace, possibility to have dinner there

“Great Stay in the Usambara Mountains!”

David and His wife Judith made my stay very comfortable. On the First day I arrived quite late but anyway it was possible to have delicious Dinner from Judith. David is also helpful with organizing tours/hikes, mine with Richard was good :) Rooms are big and everything clean. Blankets for the cold nights available. Also they are doing a bonfire every evening you are free to Join! The homestay is not in the Center of lushoto but you can either start hikes from here or easily get there. For me the calm, peaceful area was perfect.

The breakfast was amazing. Best breakfast in Tanzania so far. Locally sourced produce and home made jams and juices. Lovely mix of traditional Tanzania food with western home comforts. The place was nice and clean with a lovely balcony area. Hot shower with great pressure.

Great place! David is an amazing host and gave us many useful and good tips for Lushoto and Tanzania in general. I had a warm water shower for my first time in Tanzania, which was much appreciated. The room was clean and big as well as the bathroom. David helped us arrange tours and the bus back to Dar es Salaam. He also has pick up options if that is needed. There are chameleons in the garden, which is one of the local animals which was so cool to see!! Overall we had a lovely stay☺️

The houses are very spacious, very nicely built and comfortable. The service is exceptionally good. The owner David is a very nice and talented person constantly improving your stay. He provides transportation in a very safe, comfortable and reliable vehicle. He helped us with organizing trips. We feel lucky to have found this place and we will definitely only stay here when visiting the Usambara Mountains. Thanks a lot for everything 🙏

David and all the staff have been really welcoming and kind. They take care of any details and make sure you have a good stay with all the comfort you need. The bedroom is big and really clean. Breakfast and food in general is really good and tasty. General atmosphere is chill and familiar. Really recommended. David is an excellent host. Speaks English very well and he can help with organising tours. David also provides guided tours around Lushoto if you like.
