“We loved it and will stay there again if we go back to Santo”

Everything. The location -which was perfect for us as we didn’t want to stay too close to the centre of town anyway. The food - was superb, mostly homemade. I would say that I enjoyed their French cooking than the French restaurant in Port Villa. The room was spacious and very clean. And lastly the conversation we had with them, interesting, vibrant. They manage the property with so much passion that you can feel it, taste it and enjoy it.

“A real gem of a place”

A nice respite after a week of travelling. Very clean house and spacious bedroom, the balcony has an amazing view, overlooking the sea in the horizon. Bernard is such a hospitable host and his home-cooked meals were excellent, I ate and rested so well there. I had an issue with Air Vanuatu (good to have more buffer between international flights as last min flight changes seems to be a norm with this airline) and Bernard patiently helped me out with it, much appreciated! The house is in a nice local neighbourhood (nice field behind the property) with the airport and amenities of the town centre close by, it’s perfect as a base to explore Santo.

Bernard is such a good host and cook. Food is amazing, it did live up to the expectations from previous reviews. Every thing was really clean, nice views, and Bernard was really attentive with us. Totally would recommend. Merci beaucoup Bernard!

Bernard was accommodating and thoughtful, with great local knowledge and contacts to organise what I needed. The food he made was delicious and I was full every meal. The rooms are basic and comfortable. He provides airport transfer for no extra cost.

Absolutely, loved my stay here, the hospitality is overwhelming. This property comes with half board and some of the most delicious food I have eaten, every meal was an absolute delight, fresh fillet of snapper, wild boar with roasted pumpkin and potatoes, steak au poivre and probably the best oysters I have ever eaten. Breakfast has home made jam and freshly squeezed grapefruit and passion fruit juice. Spotlessly clean, hot water, quiet location but close to town, lovely outdoor space and free airport transfers.

Bernard was the perfect host. Couldn’t have asked for better. Beautiful home. Lovely sized room and bathroom. And the meals included were top class and great portion sizes. The homemade Pawpaw jam in the morning was amazing. Airport pickup was included which was handy. It’s about 20-30 minutes walk to the town or you can walk down to the main road and flag down a taxi or bus. This is the perfect place for exploring Santo and relaxing in the evenings. Most of the tours will pick you up from here. Would definitely stay here again if I was going back to Santo

I stayed 2 nights at La Maison Hebridaise. It's spotless, comfortable, has great views, and the food is amazing. Bernard provides breakfast and dinner, and they are both something else. Just make sure you have a small lunch = )

Bernard is a great host and a very good cook. He cooked our dinner for us, which was very fresh and healthy. He picked us up at the airport and drove us to his beautiful, spotless home. Hot shower and very comfy bed!

“I didn’t want to leave”

Great Views. Big verandah to sit and look down at the water. The owners Bernard and Chooki made me feel like a family member, nothing was a problem. I was dropped and picked up at airport. The food. 👍 It was like going to a restaurant every night. BEverything about this place is a 10. Best 5 days accommodation with the best host. Breakfast was also great, home made jams, fresh fruit , juice etc.

“Best place I've stayed in the Pacific”

Fantastic place to stay in Luganville. Bernard and Marlene are fantastic hosts that do all the small things right and treat you like family. The house was spotless and in a great location with a fantastic view of the sea and surrounding area. There's also hot water in the bathrooms, WiFi that works really well (Vanuatu SIM cards aren't the most reliable for data coverage), and real coffee. The food Bernard cooks is some of the best I've ever had travelling and cooked with a French flair. He also makes sure you don't leave on an empty stomach as well (I struggled to finish dinner and I'm a 110kg ex rugby player!). My only regret is that I wasn't able to stay longer as I had already had flights booked prior to staying here.
