A beautiful resort located on the river. Gorgeous furnishings and fittings throughout the resort. I loved sitting out on my balcony listening to the birds and watching village life around and on the river. The staff were lovely despite only 1 of them speaking English. The food was delicious. The elephant experience was pretty special as well. A very peaceful and restful place. Loved it.

This is one of a kind oasis in the wilderness. The staff is amazing and go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful. The view of the river from the rooms and the restaurant is breathtaking and it’s a great way to observe the lives of the communities that depend on the river. An added advantage is the elephants! Food at the restaurant is amazing.

Everything about this place is amazing. The rooms, the views, and the staff all exceeded my expectations. The opportunity to interact with elephants in an ethical way was a bonus!

This is an exquisite property in a stunning location. The accommodation, grounds, pool and restaurant are beautiful. The staff are kind and friendly and the food is great. Seeing the elephants was an additional treat. We loved our stay.

“Absolutley fabulous”

This hotel is just amazing. We planned to stay for 4 nights to relax in the middle of a 6 week trip. We extended to 5 nights. The buildings are gardens are stunning. The location next to the river is perfect. So much life going on to watch. The food was superb. The hotel had vegetarian dishes on the menu and also adapted other dishes for us replacing meat with tofu. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I cannot emphasise enough what great value for money this hotel is and an occasional review complains that breakfast was not included in the price! As an aside it’s nice to walk next door to the new tea house too for tea and a light savoury of sweet bite.

We absolutely loved everything, would highly recommend, the food was delicious and great prices. The pool was beautiful, the view of everything was beautiful. The staff were kind and helpful. Our elephant tour was with two elephants and five people, so very quiet and didn't have to share the elephants with a crowd. We were surprised this place wasn't busier but it's a secret gem. You could stare at the view all day. Booking.com does say there isn't a toilet in our room but that is most definitely not true, the bathroom was clean and comfortable.

The beautiful location and attention to detail, it is a magical place where you can just relax and unwind. Chateau Orientale is an escape and everyone should indulge in at least once in their life!

“Paradise”

We’ve spent three nights here. Nothing to say about the view. It’s amazing. The place is green, across the river. There are many hangout places inside that you can find the peace. Elephant feeding/bathing was also amazing. Luang Prabang is 30 min. away by the car/motorbike.

This is a very cozy and beautiful resort by the river. The decor is amazing and every little detail is well thought out. The facilities are great, super clean and yhe staff is amazing. The room was clean, with a beautiful terrace/balcony with the view of the river. The reataurant offers delivious local food at reasonable prices. They even organised a free transfer to the railway station. This is probably one of the most beatiful resorts I've been to. Highly recommended.

“Great to enjoy Luang Prabang quiet”

Our terrace was facing the Nam Kah river. Spectacular. We just sat and enjoyed the views and the surrounding. Great food, very good staff. Wide range of excursions. We had 2 hours with the elephants were taking a bath with them, feeding etc. Beautiful
