Located 900 metres from the centre of Lovran and just 20 metres from the nearest beach, Hotel Villa Astra is set in a quiet area, next to the 15-km long seaside promenade and consists of a main building and an annex. Buffet breakfast is available on site, as well as a Wellness Area. Free parking and free Wi-Fi are offered. All rooms offer air-conditioning and feature a view of the sea. They also offer a private bathroom with a bath, bathrobe and slippers. The rooms also feature a minibar, cable TV and a phone. Guests can also find tennis courts and an outdoor swimming pool right next to the hotel. The wellness centre offers yoga, stretching exercises and massages. “A delightful week, with a marvellous rain storm one day.”
A beautiful villa, dating from the early 1900’s, tastefully converted to a hotel by its owner, Vjecko Martinko. A feeling of wellness is evident in the property, directly on the famous Lungo Mare, a short distance from the old village of Lovran. A lovely breakfast each morning on the terrace sets the pattern of the day. The staff were are very friendly and Vjecko himself was present each day. It is only a few metres to swim in the crystal clear water of the Kvarner gulf, which we did several times each day, even in the rain.

A magnificent villa from the AUS-HUN monarchy overlooking a picturesque bay — you can literally jump into the crystal-clear, rocky sea right from the garden. The villa’s garden is beautiful, and the freshwater pool is heated. Breakfast exceeded all expectations. The bed in the room was extremely comfortable. A truly relaxing atmosphere. You can walk to the center of the charming little town in about 15 minutes along a picturesque seaside promenade. When we arrived around 9:30 PM, the owner welcomed us with a glass of local pálinka on the terrace and sat down to chat with us about the villa and the surrounding area.

“Expensive old villa by the sea - the Adriatic is beautiful but the property has no private access. Do not expect fancy”
Position by the sea although there is a pedestrian path in front so it’s not 100% beachfront, especially since it has no private deck or beach or rock

“The hotel is on a superb spot”
The hotel is on a superb spot, right on the sea, with a walkway along the rocks right in front. The breakfast is marvellous, added to the owner's eccentric vibe, which makes for a more than lovely experience. And they even have a piano that may be played, which made me happy :)

The villa is absolutely stunning. The building is more than 100 years old. It has a unique charm and it feels like you're staying in a palace. The breakfast outside, with view on the sea, is wonderful. By far the most romantic hotel I stayed in. The breakfast itself is served at the table, and is just the highlight of the day. The staff and owner are wonderful. No ask is too much. They are so friendly. The garden, the pool... the view... It's a very fine hotel.
