The property is beautiful. The rooms are so well decorated. Damai is true to it's tagline — hard to find, hard to leave. The place is lovely. The food is lovelier. Haven't had such good food at a hotel in a while. Tucked away in the hills, the cottages feel like homes and I really wish it was where I lived.

From the moment I arrived, the warmth, kindness, and professionalism of the staff made me feel completely at home, genuinely some of the best hospitality I have experienced anywhere in the world. The property itself is a true hidden gem. Peaceful, elegant, and surrounded by breathtaking nature, it offers a sense of serenity that is increasingly rare to find. There is a timeless sophistication to The Damai that reminded me of the golden days of Aman Resorts — understated luxury, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that makes you instantly slow down and appreciate every moment. Everything was handled with such care and attention to detail that leaving was honestly difficult. I was genuinely sad to depart. If you are looking for an authentic luxury experience in Bali away from the crowds, The Damai is truly something special. I cannot wait to return.

The Damai is located about a 10‑minute drive up into the hills from Lovina, offering a peaceful retreat away from the bustle of town. We stayed here for just over two weeks and felt truly at home. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the service is consistently at a five‑star level. The food is excellent — while relatively expensive by Indonesian standards, the quality is outstanding and the restaurant area is beautifully designed. Breakfast is a highlight: rich, varied, and full of thoughtful extras such as detox drinks and smoothies. I strongly recommend booking breakfast with your stay; it is absolutely worth it. When it comes to the villas, it’s important to pay close attention to the category you choose. All are exquisitely furnished but some have limited views, while higher‑tier villas offer more impressive outlooks. Overall, The Damai is a beautiful oasis where you can relax and unwind, surrounded by nature and attentive service. We would happily return.

The breakfast included in the booking was the best breakfast in the island. The pool, the stuff and the garden are super nice.

The beds were comfortable , villas lovely and the free yoga was enjoyable . Massage was great however expensive .

Lovina itself wouldn’t be my choice of place to visit. The Damai is the destination. Breakfast and food was excellent though on the pricey side.

The accommodation is beautiful, and the staff’s service truly lives up to a five-star standard. The interiors are a bit dated, but that didn’t matter at all – they are still very beautiful. The level of service at this property is genuinely top-notch. The breakfasts were rich and excellent; while travelling around Bali, we didn’t eat this well anywhere else. The cuisine is outstanding. The massages are also of a very high standard. The hotel-organised transfer to and from Lovina was excellent – whenever you messaged them on WhatsApp, it was arranged without any problem. Unfortunately, we weren’t very lucky with the weather, so without sunshine the accommodation felt a bit gloomy at times.

Hard to find. Very, very hard to leave! We loved absolutely everything about this place. The tranqulity dont show in the pictures, the location, the rooms and especially the staff is absolutely amazing! By far the best hotel I ever stayed in!

“A luxurious, but expensive stay”

We spent two weeks in Bali for our honeymoon, staying in 5 different points of the Island. The Damai was our third hotel and third location. We chose this as our "luxury option" and the place where we would settle and relax after a busy couple of days. The hotel is gorgeous and so was our private villa. Every detail was well thought about. The hotel kindly gave us a complimentary honeymoon benefits and I was delighted to walk into a bath full of petals! Thank you. The free massage is a nice touch, it was a dry massage and id never had one of these. It was wonderful and just what was needed for sore and tired muscles. The staff were friendly, attentive and couldn't do more for you! We felt very well looked after. The breakfast was incredible and would definitely recommend booking with breakfast included. It is worth every penny. We are vegetarians and the hotel catered for our needs very well. We found there wasn't really anything we could eat on the lunch menu and when raising this the chef was more than happy to come up with some alternative options for us.

A beautiful hotel set in discrete and lush grounds. Our villa was perfect. Plenty of living and sleeping space and a private terrace and pool overlooking a stunning valley to the sea in the distance. The staff are absolutely wonderful - friendly, caring and attentive. The food was really good - at the fine dining end. The team are very responsive to organising anything you want from excursions , shuttles to Lovina and airport transfer. We wanted a relaxing and quiet week and the Damai delivered exactly what we needed.

“Nice Stay but Hotel Past Its Prime”

Overall, our stay was okay, but the hotel clearly feels past its prime and in need of a strong overhaul to return to its full potential. The hotel itself is nice and probably still the best option in Lovina, unless you move up into the mountains for something different.
