I enjoyed my 2 night stay in LA downtown in the Arts/Tokyo district. It has some good Japanese restaurants nearby and not far to the subway train. It’s imperative you bring silicone earplugs as it noisy being in the city so you can sleep ok.

Location was excellent. Staff was very friendly. We left our luggage after checkout and collected later on which was such a bonus. Rooms were nice and clean. Had fantastic experience. Location is so near to train station. I would use them again.

My stay at The American Hotel was honestly much better than I expected. The hotel has a great connection to the metro, with the station only about a 10-minute walk away, which made getting around Los Angeles really easy without a car. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay, and both the room and bathroom were very clean and well maintained. I also really liked the neighborhood, it has a very charming and relaxed atmosphere. There’s an excellent pizza place nearby, as well as Alfred Coffee, which was perfect for coffee and breakfast in the morning. I came with much lower expectations, so I was genuinely impressed by the whole experience. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great value stay in Los Angeles.

Great value, nice location in the middle of the Arts District and close to Little Tokyo. It felt safe and the staff were kind, they let us check in a bit early because our room was available.

The location is in the heart of the arts district, breweries around, multiple coffee shops, restaurants, amenities of all sorts. As a tourist everything is walkable and fun to be around. Theres the metro bike share, multiple scooter rentals, malls, little Tokyo is a step away and so is the arts district metro station. I love that the bed had a nice new comfy mattress, the sheets were clean, toilets and general hotel was super clean and staff is very kind and helpful. Would recommend 10/10 exceeded what we were expecting entirely.

The location was perfect! Facilities were as basic but you get all you need and could expect. Shared bathroom was very clean. Didn't bother me at all!

Amazing Location , near the metro and Japanese neighbourhood with lots of shops and food options.Felt always very safe within the arts district . Lots of cafes too.

first of all location is good five minutes from Little Tokyo, five minutes from Union Station, which connects to the whole of Los Angeles. It’s easy to get anywhere from the location that it’s in. all the staff at this hotel are actually absolutely first rate you don’t need a big flashy HOTEL these people know what they’re doing. They’re kind they’re helpful and a winning to go the extra mile if you have any problems, it’s nice to see that every single member of staff actually cares about what they’re doing and the building the building is very famous and if you read it history this is where you should stay also, as I said before, the hotel is super secure the rest assured that no one is getting in unless they absolutely have to be there
