The resort has a very good restaurant. Also very tasty cocktails! Lazy atmosphere, super to relax. The staff is really very friendly.

The rooms are basic but the spot is really nice, beautiful garden and beautiful coral beach. It’s very remote basically you wake up dive relax dive and sleep :) perfect to relax

Wow this place is incredible! Me and my partner travelled for one month throughout the Philippines and Polaris was our number one favorite place to stay. The staff is so kind and welcoming. The diving is superb and just a few minutes boat ride away. The dive guides are very caring and have amazing eyes. So much macro life to spot underwater. There is a nice swimming pool and they make great pizzas in their own oven. This place is definitely a "hidden gem" and we will be back some day :) Thanks Polaris team for giving us such a wonderful experience!

The location

Nice place to stay on Cabilao island, away from the busy cities in Bohol. The gardens are wonderful, rooms are spacious and well equipped. The restaurant was good (special note to Carlo for the excellent service and for the pizzas) and we had some great times at the bar while watching stunning sunsets (again special note for Jonathan here). Definitively recommend this hotel, would have loved to stay longer!

Great place. Lots of attention to detail very well organised and managed diving. Great staff. New Year’s Eve fireworks. Food ok especially when fresh fish arrived. WiFi excellent in rest, spotty elsewhere.

“Lovely hotel on a lovely quiet island”

Located on a lovely island which is very authentic. I enjoyed exploring the island; walking to nearby beaches and to the bakery which located about 3km away. Was a delightful island to walk around; the local people were so happy to see me. Hotel has a lovely costal setting looking acros to the hills of Cebu. Staff were extremely nice. Food delicious. Nice clean swimming pool. Loved the treehouse room I stayed in. Hope to visit again one day.

I stayed at and dived with Polaris for 5 nights in January 2024 and had an amazing experience which was the highlight of my 10-night trip to Bohol. I will definitely be returning to Polaris (and would encourage others to visit too) for the reasons described below. Rooms: I stayed in one of the treehouse rooms (fan-only, cold water showers) and it was spacious with a wide balcony which was perfect for lounging during the day. The room itself (from the bedroom to the bathroom) was basic but very clean - the staff obviously take pride in maintaining their rooms to a high standard. The first few nights without AC were a little warm, but I got used to it pretty quickly - it's nice to wake up and not feel cold. Food: Food at the resort was excellent. Everything is prepared fresh-to-order and they even have a wood-fired pizza oven. I tried a variety of dishes (sandwiches / pastas / pizzas / soups) and everything was tasty and fresh. There aren't really any restaurants on Cabilao (aside from at the few neighboring resorts) so I had every meal at Polaris. Prices are reasonable for the quality (remember that a lot of ingredients need to be brought over by boat). Diving: Polaris' dive centre is excellent. There weren't many other divers while I was there, so I dived in a group with just my DM (Lito). Lito was one of the best DMs I have had the pleasure of diving with and an overall great guy - he was excellent at spotting interesting macro / small critters - we saw pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefish, countless nudis. All of the dive sites are within a 5-10 minute speedboat ride away, with mostly wall dives along the steep drop-off surrounding the island. The walls are stunning with healthy coral (huge gorgonia), crevices to explore, and abundant marine life (in terms of larger species we saw turtles, great barracuda, huge titan triggerfish).

Staff is amazing! It felt like having family around rather than working staff. The place is very calm. Mattresses are very comfortable (probably the best I had so far in Philippines) Perfect location to watch beautiful sunset! The dive shop just right there that adjusts to your need! Very chill atmosphere overall!

Everything - the location, the people, the food, the view, the grounds … we have traveled a lot around Asia over the years and this has to be our favourite spot of all. The staff were kind and welcoming and the diving lessons were incredible. We actually extended our stay instead of going on with our trip because we liked it so much, we didn’t want to leave!

“Beautiful place to stay”

Polaris was wonderful, the location was perfect for us in a picturesque and quiet setting. Staff were fantastic, accommodating and friendly. We rescued a tiny puppy from a storm and the staff were kind enough to help me look after her there. (If you see the puppy, Lucky, some food and love will always be welcome, I hope she is still being cared for in our absence).

One of the kindest people and stuff we met during our trip in Philippines. Hotel property and rooms has its own charm, we were surprised after arrival as it was even better than pics on booking. Suitable for people who want to relax away from typical crowded places as there are just you and nature.
