Centrally located in Longyearbyen, Basecamp Hotel is a traditional trapper's lodge-style property just 15 minutes’ drive from Longyearbyen Airport. The airport bus stops right outside. The hotel offers individually decorated rooms with driftwood furniture, fur rugs and free WiFi. Guests can enjoy a drink in the hotel pub, borrow a book in the lobby and soak in the atmosphere of staying in the Arctic Circle. The Cognac Attic has a TV and a glass ceiling, which allows guests to view the famous midnight sun or Northern Lights from the comfort of the hotel.

The breakfast served here was exceptionally hearty and delicious—a great way to start the day! One thing to note is that there wasn’t an electric kettle in the room; however, the staff was extremely thoughtful and kind enough to let me take a full pot of hot water back to my room. This stay truly left me with unforgettable memories. Highly recommended!

A luxurious hotel with a beautiful wooden interior. It feels like a log cabin in the woods. The staff was incredibly polite and helpful. We're so glad we stayed here!

A really cosy hotel situated in town. Excellent, friendly staff who really want to help. We were 4 friends staying in a family room which was perfect. The breakfast was lovely and the restaurant next door was amazing! Thank you for a great stay! I will definitely be back with my family!

Breakfast was incredible. Such a nice selection. The Chef was so personable and friendly. It really felt like nothing was too much hassle and the food was gorgeous !! The rooms were unique and so in keeping with the surroundings. The Staff were super friendly and helpful Loved the fact that you took your shoes off at the door. It made it feel like home.

“Good choice to stay in Longyearbyen”
Almost everything is perfect. The room is clean and spacial. The people here are friendly and willing to help. The heating system is like that the energy is free of cost. The location is right next to the city center, which means easy to go to restaurants and supermarket. It is very important in winter. The decoration makes me feel in a wooden cottage, which was an amazing experience.

Generally a good place to stay, and it has a cosy atmosphere. It has everything you need, as a hotel; and it has some nice communal relaxing areas as well. The staff is super friendly and helpfull. The breakfast is also really good, and they can even whip something up on order for breakfast (free of charge).

Location good, breakfast excellent choices. General maintenance and cleanliness was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. The hotel has a lovely genuine feel and adds to the overall experience of being on the island of Svalbard.
