Overview

If a "Stay aboard the Queen Mary for an experience unlike any other." isn’t for you, board the Queen Mary Hotel for an experience unlike any other. Once a world-class ocean liner, the Queen Mary, now permanently stationed in Long Beach, offers a real glimpse into what transatlantic travel was like during the 30s, 40s and 50s. With its impressive history and tradition of excellence, the ship is more than just a place to rest one’s head. It’s also a place where you can take historic tours, see paranormal attractions, browse shops, relax on the spacious sun deck or enjoy fresh seafood at Chelsea Chowder House & Bar. Even in the rooms you’ll find an impressive history, rich tradition and old world elegance. The ship’s 346 original first-class staterooms and nine suites, adorned with rich wood paneling from all over the world, Art Deco built-ins and original artwork found on the ship during her heyday, all pay homage to a bygone era. Enjoy one of the last luxury ocean liners of its kind.

Great experience staying in a living museum

This was a fun place to spend a night in Long Beach. The Queen Mary is still sumptuous and beautiful to wander around. The rooms were comfortable (we had a portside room - no great view but nice to be able to open our porthole). The room stay included a free 30 minute tour with some of the history of the ship. We also did a self guided tour that included the engine room and propellor box (don't miss the propellor!) as well as some of the ship's history during WWII. Definitely make sure you have time to wander around the ship. Didn't do any of the paid tours but felt like we got a really good sense of the ship. We had a drink at the Observation Bar and dinner in the Promenade Cafe - both were good and reasonably priced. Note there isn't anywhere to eat or drink in the vicinity of the ship but there are good choices on board so you don't need to leave. The speakeasy was open the night we were there and we really enjoyed the live music and cocktails. Would recommend - our one night stay exceeded our expectations.

Unique experience

Had wanted to stay on The Queen Mary since sailing on The Queen Mary II and it was a great experience. We enjoyed the exhibits, although a lot shut at 8pm which didn’t give us a lot of time in our travel schedule but we could have stayed on the ship a lot later the next day if we’d had time . We had a slight problem with our room but the lovely lady on reception (sorry didn’t get her name) sorted it quickly for us and we had a lovely stay, nice food in the restaurant, and a good sleep. Memorable stay.

Very emotional and awesome at the same time

The History of The Queen Mary, my relatives from England worked on it when it was a working passenger liner back in the 50’s & 60’s. Our room was absolutely awesome!

History at its best…

As hotel guests we were able to enjoy the Queen Mary in full quietness and style. Bejing it the evening drink at the forward most bar or doing yoga all alone on the sundeck. This all with very friendly and helpful hosts. Flashback into the glorious times of Ocean Liners.
