Overview
Set on a hill above Locarno, the La Barca Blu overlooks Lake Maggiore and is a 5-minute walk from the funicular to Locarno. Free WiFi is available. All rooms feature a balcony or a terrace. An LCD TV with satellite channels and a kitchenette, tea- and coffee-making facilities are also provided. A buffet breakfast is available every morning. Discounted rates for the funicular going to Locarno are offered to guests staying at the La Barca Blu. Further reductions are offered from the cable car to Cardada and the Lido Spa Oasis in Locarno. Private parking is possible on site at an additional cost. A bus stops right nearby, while the Locarno train station is reachable in 5 km. The closest restaurant is 50 metres away. The centre of Locarno and Lake Maggiore can be reached in 5 minutes by car. Visconteo Castle is 2 minutes further.

Big and clean rooms with terrace offering an exceptional view. Also pleasant and polite employees, especially the lady in the reception. I highly recommend the hotel, was definitely value for money.

“A decent option in a very nice location”
- The staff was amazing, very helpful and smiling. - We loved the location, high above the city with breathtaking views and some attractions nearby. - We stayed for one night during a very hot day but at night the room became cooler with fresh air from the terrace and a fan was enough. We slept very well. - The shower is tiny but with very good water pressure. - Decent room size. Even a small kitchen but we didn’t use it. - Breakfast was ok.

I paid 18chf per night to park my motorcycle, the alloted space was a gravel surface, the only way to ensure my bike didn't rock over was to move it sideways, on the first night some swiss person had parked his car in front of my bike, not impressed

The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful, and always smiling. The room is functional and very clean. The espresso machine and water kettle are a very nice thing to have in the room! Thanks. The parking place was reserved and the items for the dog were in the room. Excellent service!!!!

Stunning location. Loved getting the funicular. Beautiful views from balcony. Breakfast OK but not brilliant if don't have a sweet tooth. Bed was super comfy.

“Good value for money!”
Breakfast on the balcony with amazing views. Friendly staff let me sit in at 7.20am although the opening time was 7.30am.

“Nice Hotel, in a quiet area”
The Hotel was better than we expected. I need to note, the hotel is not in the center, (We prefer a quite area) but it is easy accessible with car, bus or trolley. The room was clean and had a small kitchen with the basic equipment. Breakfast was also good, we ate on the breakfast room Balcony, which also had a nice view.
