A very disappointing experience overall. The main issue was the staff. With the exception of the concierge, who was genuinely friendly and helpful, most of the team came across as unwelcoming, and indifferent. Besides a very average experience two points stood out: a frustrating laundry service process. Everything had to be managed through a QR code system that simply did not work. As a result, staff had to come back to our room three separate times late in the evening before eventually resorting to a paper form. To finish the stay, we requested a late check-out. While we fully understand that a late check-out after 1:00 PM may not always be possible, the team emphasized that shower facilities would be available for guests after a day of sightseeing. In reality, this turned out to be what appeared to be a almost a staff shower, with no hot water available. We ended up preparing for a 15-hour flight with damp clothes. To make matters worse, the bar staff seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than assisting guests when help was needed. In conclusion, this experience was far below expectations. Next time, I will gladly return to Belmond, where the level of service is simply in a completely different league.

We stayed at SOUMA for 7 days and it was an amazing experience. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The Hotel is beautiful - the rooms are very comfortable and the Rooftop Bar is exceptional. The food we had was absolutely delicious. I would absolutely stay there again
