I had a very enjoyable stay at Sunrise Motel in Lilongwe and can absolutely recommend it. A special thank you goes to the manager, Mhaptso, who might be one of the friendliest hotel managers I have ever met. He was incredibly welcoming, helpful and made sure everything during my stay was perfect. The hotel itself offers great comfort: a very comfortable bed, strong air conditioning, a powerful hot shower, and something extremely valuable for travelers — fast Starlink WiFi throughout the property. There is also a great bar and an excellent restaurant with fantastic food options, making it easy to relax after a long day. For anything else you might need, there is also a supermarket just a 7–8 minute walk away. Overall, a very comfortable and friendly place to stay in Lilongwe. I would happily return.

A little oasis on the edge of the city. If you come from the Zambian border with local transport you can actually get out at nearby roundabout and walk there instead of going to the depot (if you're travelling with a backpack). We had a big comfortable room. Food in the restaurant was decent.

Exceptional Management: We arrived from Nkhata Bay and were immediately impressed by the manager. He was a lifesaver, helping us arrange a taxi to get our son to the hospital during a medical emergency. Security & Facilities: The motel felt very safe with guards at the entrance. Having an on-site restaurant, bar, and room service made the stay very convenient. There is also plenty of parking and the location is great for getting around Lilongwe.

Excellent location; within 10 mins. walk to local mall to exchange cash and visit Old Town Mall. Rooms are impeccably clean but let down by uncleaned towel(s) I had to ask for a change. Sparsely ménagée but included essentials. Good showers. Two bottles of water as a welcoming gesture. Upgraded to a larger room. WiFi coverage good…when working.

A convenient base for staying at if just off the bus/plane. Unfortunately the bathroom was a little problematic with the shower head coming out of the wall... The hit water was scolding, which could pose a problem. The spacious room gave a comfortable sleep and the staff were very friendly and super helpful.

The place was value for money. The cost was affordable the cleanliness and comfort was great. I couldn't complain.
