“Comfortable hotel in a great location”

Great location within Shuhe Old Town. Comfortable room - the two double beds could sleep four people comfortably but there's also a sofa bed if you need more space. Ample charging points and places to put stuff in the very spacious bathroom. Nice additional touches by the host - lip balm and Singapore Kaya (a coconut egg jam). Staff also speak English.

Amazing experience in Shuhe village. Very authentic, rooms are very charming and staff extremely helpful.

“A gem on the Tea Horse road”

We loved this place in Shuhe Ancient Town. It is a small boutique hotel with nice room with all confort. The style is authentic and the staff is very nice. The breakfast is superlative. We also have a private tour organizza by them in Yunnan and it was perfect. We would love to come back again.

The general manager was very helpful and gave us alot of tips on best places to visit as we have limited time in Lijiang and Shuhe Ancient Old Town. The staff were very friendly and always around to recommend restaurants to us. The location is very within walking distance to all places of interest...would definitely come back again!

Our stay at The Bivou at Shuhe Old Town was truly exceptional. The location is perfect — serene and scenic, yet just a short stroll from the charming streets of Shuhe. The host and staff were genuinely warm and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. The room was beautifully designed, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a lovely retreat after a day of exploring. Every detail reflected care and thoughtfulness. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend The Bivou to anyone visiting Lijiang.

Exceptional customer service by both front and back office staff. In house Cafe serves good breakfast and a reasonable choice of both Chinese and Western dishes (and of decent standard too). Place is cozy and tranquil, located in the less crowded neighbourhood of Shu He old town as compared to the more touristic and crowded Dayan old town.

“Relaxing, unique, memorable.”

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Bivou for its location - very conveniently located in Shuhe old town (steps away from main gate where you can get a car ride). Not forgetting the warm and personable hospitality and service by the small team. While the room may understandably be slightly dated, it served well for rest. Property itself is a respite from the busyness outside - we felt so comfortable we stayed in for an entire day, having wine, affogato, pizza and snacks while playing card games available at their restaurant. Next to the restaurant is a cool video lounge / loft where our child enjoyed some special DVD screen time. Can also borrow DVDs for in-room watching. Breakfast was very good too - a choice of western / chinese noodles + a semi-buffet of fruits, homemade banana bread, kefir (!!!), toast, etc. Simple but better than the usual hotel long buffet lines. Overall a very memorable and unique stay, thanks to the amazing team - from the owner who was always present + aunty May + all the helpful ladies. Highly recommended!

Beautiful hotel, just by the plantations and close to the river. The rooms keeps is traditional style but with modern comfort. Also, food is delicious! Local and authentic Singaporean flavours on the table. The staff and owner are very friendly, we would stay here again.

Service was exceptional especially 阿姨 during breakfast. Located within Shuhe old town, in a quiet area. Lovely cosy hotel, clean and we had one of our best meals at their cafe.

The property was very clean and well managed. Love the cozy and well curated aesthetics. The service staff is kind and friendly and very helpful in finding my way through the old town. A perfect stay for anyone who likes to escape the bustling city into a quiet retreat. Kudos to Mei for being so friendly and hospitable. Will definitely return for their food.
