Overview
The centrally located Hotel Liva is Liepaja’s largest hotel and is within walking distance of Liepaja's main attractions. Liepaja’s sandy beach is a 10-minute walk away from the hotel. The hotel's Restaurant Upe is one of the top restaurants in town. A healthy and hearty buffet breakfast is offered there. Delicious cuisine is served during lunch and dinner. The restaurant bar has the longest bar counter in the Kurzeme region and offers a wide assortment of beverages. Hotel Liva's rooms are comfortably and individually furnished with a seating area and a work desk. The private bathroom is equipped with a hairdryer and toiletries. Depending on the location of your room, you can enjoy either the view of the famous St. Trinity church or of the lovely Square of Roses. Our stay last year went smoothly. Unfortunately, in June 2026, there were no free parking spaces available in the afternoon, evening, or morning—despite offering them in the property description. PLEASE NOTE THIS IF YOU ARE DRIVING YOUR OWN CAR!

Līva is an old and very down-to-earth hotel for the average Joe where there are no surprises regarding the quality you get for the fair amount of money you pay. This is not a place for female or male Karens who expect out-of-this-world standards when they are not required to pay for such. I most, however, admit that the breakfast buffet is more than excellent for the price. The 10% discount at the hotel restaurant is also a good thing to have. The reception and restaurant staff and, particularly, the housekeeping are doing their job excellently, and they cannot be blamed for the maintenance or any other property-related issues, which are the responsibility of the hotel management.
