New and good rooms. Good location overall

The rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best of all the hotels I stayed in CR during my 2 weeks! Friendly staff.

Breakfast was in a beautiful setting by the pool and was an authentic Costa Rican meal. Tastiest breakfast of our trip!

“Lovely stay in Currubande”

Relatively close to what we wanted to do. Bed was comfortable, pillows not bad, bathroom spacious. AC works great and is quiet. Pool was a nice size. Access to a fridge and cooking facilities is a plus although we only used the fridge. Breakfast provided was made fresh but only the usual gallo pinto eggs and white toast with a small portion of fruit.

Quiet comfortable amazing breakfast and friendly staff.

The property is wonderfully maintained, very clean and the staff is absolutely lovely. They have a little hiking trail behind the property that leads to a beautiful little river. It is about 20 minutes to Rincon de la Vieja national park and Rio Negro Hot springs by car and the road is good. There is a little common kitchen area with the basics and a fridge that is super handy. Beds are very comfortable. Would definitely stay again 😊

“Perfect place to sleep for a first night in Costa Rica!”

Very good breakfast. Eating breakfast outside was nice! Beds were comfortable and the room was clean. As a bonus, there was a fridge that we were allowed to use in a shared kitchen. This was our first night in Costa Rica after an afternoon flight arrival and it was just perfect. Very close to Liberia.

“great stay and good breakfast”

Breakfast was very good with nice sitting area outside by the pool. The pool was also very nice. Relatively quiet (except of some birds in the morning ;-) )

The apartments are realy noisy so you heare almost everything when poeple are busy around the stay

“Perfect stay in a family-run guesthouse - better than most hotels!”

Our stay at the Amazilia Guesthouse came close to perfection. The staff was friendly, the accomodation perfectly clean, with a working A/C and ample space to put your things. But it was the little things which really stood out in comparison to other accomodations in Costa Rica: the good toilet paper, as opposed to the one where you can see through. A hot shower with sufficient water pressure. A non-leaking shower cabin. Good light and a good mirror in the bathroom. A well-working and clean dustbin, where you don´t have to worry about your personal safety when putting the used toilet paper in. We even got a packed breakfast as we had to leave early on our last day. The location requires a car and is quite remote, but perfect if you plan accordingly and want to visit the (equally remote) Rincon de la Vieja National Park. All in all, highly recommended!

Pool access. Comfortable and good-sized room with towels and good bathroom. Lovely breakfast served by the pool. Welcome drink. Owner was very welcoming.

Newly renovated, very clean, great swimming pool. Would work well for families as ensuite rooms share kitchen area.

“Nice hotel close to Liberia”

Breakfast was really good. Outoor area was nice: eating area, garden and swimming pool. Lots of birds can be seen in the garden.

We loved our short time at Amazilia and would have stayed longer if we could. Location is perfect for Leona waterfall, tubing, Las Coyotes and Rincon de la Vieja. Also, the breakfast was very good and the room clean and spacious. Finally, Mario was very kind and helpful. Highly recommended !

“Great hideout close to la Leona with great staff and value for your money”

Mario in the staff was a great added value to the place. Breakfast is wonderful and freshly made. The pool is a great hideout place.

“Very comfortable stay!”

We received a warm welcome from Mario. He was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay - on one occasion he arranged an evening meal reservation for us at Rancho Don Luis (they opened up just to accommodate us and the other couple staying at Amazilia). Our room was an adequate size - the wide bed was very comfortable and the shower worked well (though the water wasn't hot). We made very good use of the lovely pool area. The dining area was great and we enjoyed the breakfasts - the cook was also responsible for cleaning the rooms and the property and she did a great job. Amazilia is ideally located for Parque Nacional Rinco de la Vieja - unfortunately, during our stay, the park was closed due to the excessive rainfall Costa Rica had been having. We ate 3 times at nearby Rancho Los Gavilanes - it has a lovely setting by a river.
