A wonderful week in a beautiful French-style house in the heart of Libaro. Mornings began with generous homemade breakfasts, surrounded by nature and calm. The house was full of charm, comfort, and authenticity — a perfect retreat to slow down and feel at home.

We had a lovely stay in this typical and nicely maintained landhouse with lot’s of options to either make it a secluded/privacy stay or interact with the (lovely) hosts.

“Peace and tranquility in sight of the Pyrenees”

James and Lu were the perfect hosts - very helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The setting is tranquil; a beautifully restored and maintained farmhouse with original features but modern facilities with extensive grounds and excellent pool area. We loved the home grown fruit and vegetables from the potager. Delicious breakfast with home made bread and jams.

Lucia and James were fantastic, they were so accommodating even before we arrived as with flight delays we didn’t arrive until 1.30am but had set up everything ready for our arrival so we knew where we were going. The property was fantastic and just what we needed but the real stand out was the meal cooked for us on Sunday! James cooked us up a fantastic curry which hit the spot and sorted out our sore heads from the night before (with the help of a few glasses of wine) - if you are ever staying make sure to book in a meal.

My partner and I stayed at Maison de Haouret for three nights in early August, driving from Biarritz to attend a friends party nearby. To say we loved our stay is an understatement! We didn’t want to leave. The hosts are genuinely some of the best we’d ever experienced. Super welcoming and accommodating, literally catered to our every need. There are excellent facilities and surrounding gardens and a pool to die for. We cooked for ourselves on the first night in the guest kitchen (well stocked with all the basics) and then immediately regretted it when we saw the spread James had cooked the other guests. We ate with them every other night which I highly recommend doing, as the food was excellent. James and Lu strike the perfect balance of being friendly and social/warm if you want to chat - but also you can chill out/be left to your own devices if you don’t want to be social. We originally intended on travelling around a bit when we were there but once we arrived we never wanted to leave and we can’t wait to come back! 11/10

We stayed there for 9 nights. The place is even more beautiful in reality; the pool, garden area and park are amazing. We rented the attic with 2 spacious bedrooms, living room and really nice bathrooms.

Pure tranquility, pool was fantastic to escape the blistering heat, beautiful old Maison de Maitre, good base for exploring the region, very private/secluded, use of kitchen and laundry facilities, the hosts are really lovely and it was wonderful to chat with them every day.
