Overview
Leukerbad’s Apartments Steinbock lies just 10 metres from the bus terminal and a 5-minute stroll from the local ice rink, squash, and tennis courts. The Alpentherme Thermal Baths are just 200 meters away. Rooms have modern furnishings and large windows that flood the unit with natural light. Art decorates the walls, and bathroom facilities are shared. Apartments have 2 or 3 bedrooms and come with a balcony or terrace, a private bathroom and a kitchen or kitchenette. Wi-Fi is available free of charge in all units, and a communal laundry and ski storage room is available on site. The property also has a large roof-top sun terrace with barbecue facilities, tables and chairs. The cable cars Gemmibahn and Torrentbahn are both within a 7-minute walk. Several other lifts, including a children’s lift and the Leukerbad Ski Lift are within 700 metres. Golf Club Leuk can be reached by car in 20 minutes.

Our recent stay at this apartment in Switzerland was a mix of positive and negative experiences. While there were some aspects we appreciated, there were several issues that impacted our overall satisfaction. First, the apartment is located next to a cemetery, and the bedroom windows open directly to it. This detail was not mentioned in the listing, and it could be unsettling for some guests. Additionally, the apartment is on the ground floor above the parking of the apartment and the heating system, which resulted in a persistent gasoline smell throughout our stay. On a positive note, the apartment was very clean and neat, and the landlord was exceptionally kind and responsive. However, despite her responsiveness, we faced a delay in getting our deposit back. It took a month and required several reminders before we finally received it. Another inconvenience was the layout of the apartment. To access one of the bedrooms, you have to go through the bathroom, which was not ideal for privacy and practicality. Overall, while the apartment had some redeeming qualities, such as cleanliness and a responsive landlord, the location, odor issue, deposit delay, and inconvenient layout were significant drawbacks that affected our stay.
